As you may have seen the EU enlarges to 25 1/5 and there are many events all over Europe to celebrate ( not sure if UK is doing much!!!)

At 6pm this evening Belgium began its party with a bit of singing, a speech by the Belgian Prime Minister (in Nederlands, Francais & English!) flying a large European flag and the inflation of 19 (should have been 25!) hot air balloons (my 2nd lot this week) It began to rain so not all were inflated. I logged the following:-

CS-BAJ (my 1st Portugese hab)
D-OMAR
F-GTMA
G-BFYK
G-BYER
OY-GOD (my 1st Danish hab)
OO-BBX
OO-BEC
OO-BEL (SEE PIC IN WAREGEM POST)
OO-BEZ
OO-BHU
OO-BIC
OO-BJN
OO-BRY
OO-BSG
OO-BSP
OO-BSY
OO-BVY
OO-BYC

I understand that there may be another infaltion tomorrow evening (Nightglow) which if you have never witnessed it is a most impressive sight - big flames, colourful balloons, gasping crowd etc. Worth a look if you are in town tomorrow.

My father works in the organisation of the event and apparently,
for the moment, depart of the hot air balloons envisaged around 19.00 and return may be around 21.30. After that, its and light display.

Thibault.
