Pictures/story of my flight from BRU to ABJ via FNA

Post by luchtzak »

Hi all,

finally I have found some time to tell a little about my trip!

I arrived at the airport well on time (1 hour before) ready with my flight-documents, visa (passport) and visum (special one for Abidjan). At the special Africa ticket-desk I had to show my passport, they are very strict on those things. You better not end up in Africa without a valid passport :? Anyway I received 11A as seat (great seat BTW), the last row in business-class and excellent for picture-taking! The following picture is just after departure, first at 700 ft we made a right-turn thereafter we made a right-turn with a nice view over Brussels:

You can see the Atomium, the 'Koning Boudewijn Stadium' and the 'Ring' If you look closely you can see traffic-jams on the 'binnen-ring' hahaha!! :P :P For once that I'm not in those bloody jams!

During the flight I got a nice hot meal, just the business-class meal you expect on a 6h15 minutes flight. During the meal I saw a brand new movie:"How to lose a guy in 10 days..." A really great movie, I couldn't stop laughing. Partly caused by the champagne (côtes de venôge), the white wine and the red wine (pater from Italy) and the mineral water

After the meal I did a nice 2 hour-long siesta and to end my flight I was invited in the cockpit for a Freetown (FNA) - Sierra Leona landing:

After the turn-around the flight from Freetown to Abidjan took 1h30 minutes, we received a hot quiche (pictures in the airlinemeals-section). I allready ate this a lot ;-)

Anyway it was a nice trip towards sunny and humid Abidjan, they call it the 'Paris of Africa' they even have a New-York alike skyline ! You can visit it but you will have to live with 200 meters road-blocks and military. Not my problemo though  You just live (love) the African-style!!

Now back to cold Belgium :? 8O :x  awaiting my next tropical destination 8) 8)

ciao ciao,

Bart

WHAT, no pictures of the crew!?!?! 8O
Djee I think all that sparkling water went to your head there bart (not used to it anymore are you? :D )
When I see the picture just before landing I'm happy to fly around in Europe, must be kinda funky landing such a big plane on a 3rd rate road.
So I hope you didn't harass the cabin crew too much and had a good time. By the way when is the next time we fly together again (because then I know it will be a great nightstop at a great location, not some stupid BHX or such).

nice flying ya all

Nice report, Bart :) Though shouldn't it better fit in the airline experience section of the forum :?:
