Re: Norwegian in 2018
Hi,
Would be great news as LH don't give any fleet grow or more destinations to SN.
BOS-JFK-SFO-LAX-JNB ...
Lots of opportunities... But not realistic as Norwegian is also shrinking their fleet and network and money is running out....
As WOW and AirAsiaX also proved before... Hard to make money this way...

Dear Paul
Do you mean this post from 2017 ?
https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/norw ... 2019-2020/
I think that Norwegian has other 'issues' to solve for the moment.
But would be great news if this would be considered !

Norwegian postponed delivery of 16 aircraft to cut its Capital Expenditure as part of a broader strategy shift to focus on profitability over growth.
Norwegian will put off delivery of 12 B737 MAX from 2020 to 2023 and 2024, and four A321LR from 2019 to 2020, reducing its investments this year and leading to a further significant cut in 2020.

Selling parts didn’t work, Norwegian is now offering new shares at 1/3 of last moday’s value to raise 300 million emergency cash.luchtzak wrote: ↑23 Dec 2018, 14:17 Norwegian spokesman Philip Allport told Aviation24.be: "This is pure speculation. Our liquidity is satisfactory, we attract hundreds of thousand of new passengers every month and we are currently working on selling parts of our fleet, which will further strengheten our financial situation."
The company is now only worth 500 million €. (LH paid around 200 for SN if I remember well)
(Off topic: Passenger, if you followed my advise to go short earlier this year you would have made a profit of 250% in less than two months!)

Requests for the authorities in progress, route should be opened in September 2019.

Re: Norwegian in 2019
Norwegian has signed an agreement with unions for cabin crew and pilots regarding the closure of its base in Palma de Mallorca, after several months of negotiations.
Norwegian is in talks with three parties regarding an investor in its fleet joint-venture. As the deal with Airbus for the aircraft is now set, and as no PDPs (pre-delivery payments) are due until 2Q 2021, the airline has bought itself some time to negotiate or develop strategies.
Norwegian may sell some B737-800s in the short-term as it takes advantage of the B737 MAX grounding.

And despite the many upheavals the airline had to face this last 12 months the airline is posting positive 1Q results, a great achievement given the many challenges and the boldness that characterises their strategy. Kudos Norwegian, you are on the right track

A nett loss of 150 million €!!
Three months ago Mr Kos and a couple of friends injected 300 million of their personal money to keep Norwegian alive. They are loosing more than a million a day, new deliveries are being delayed because there is no money to pay. Credit card companies are holding back payments to Norwegian because they fear Norwegian could go bust.
