PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp

Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
Just simulated a return flight ANR-SIR with dep 14/12 and return 18/12.
The total amount to be paid was 240 .... British pounds.
Just wondering this was the intention to have it in GBP for all destinations, including the non-UK ones , or is it a bug in their booking system?

So besides PowdAir, there could be another airline.
Which would mean SkyWorks isn't the operating airline for PowdAir.Passenger wrote: ↑21 Jun 2017, 14:23 I've compared the SkyWork Airlines booking that Luchtzak member DIBO posted with the same dates in the booking engine on Powdair.ski, and both airlines operate the same routing with almost the same schedule:
Sion-Antwerp 14th Dec 2017:
SkyWork Airlines: SX-2310: 08h00-09h15
Powdair: POW-466: 08h30-09h40
Antwerp-Sion 4th Jan 2018:
SkyWork Airlines: SX-2311: 10h00-11h15
Powdair: POW467: 10h25-11h35
If these are indeed the same flights, one of the two airlines is violating the European legislation stating that an airline must clearly advise they are not the operating airline.
But still a lot of "if's" and confusion...
Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
We have not contracted with SX....Yet! However we have been in contract negotiations and are awaiting them to confirm to us that they WILL have their new jet aircraft in time for our winter flying program... We are not interested in turbo prop operations

Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
You have no AOC - so you are no airline. So you don't have an IATA bond (ex. through the BSP).
You are no British or Irish touroperator. So you don't offer the ATOL protection and/or the ITAA guarantuee and/or the ABTA guarantuee.
You don't have a signed agreement with an existing airline. So the ticket you are selling right now, are only valid on virtual airline Powdair. Why would Belgian passengers pay real money for virtual tickets?

Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
Simply because they trust the swiss regulator
Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
Powdair is avoiding the Swiss regulator as they want to register in Ireland, according to mr Powdair himself.
Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
There was an article in Travelnews.ch (21/06/2017), confirming the confusion about this "airline":
https://www.travelnews.ch/flug/5819-sky ... ungen.html
Some extracts, starting with a confirmation that Skywork will operate to/from Antwerp as from 14th Dec:

A CRJ200 looks more reasonable than an A319 or even an E190...

I find it strange that the (new) Airport website is not mentioning the Skywork Airlines flights...

Sadly, modern websites generally are more about good looks than about correct and complete content.
Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
It seems that SkyWorkAirlines doesn't offer Antwerp anymore:
https://flyskywork.com/flight-schedule
Flight information - Flight schedules - Our flights 2017/2018

The flights have never been in their schedule, only in the booking engine and they are still available. But indeed no official statement from Skywork that they will launch flights from Sion te several destinations.Passenger wrote: ↑26 Aug 2017, 15:16It seems that SkyWorkAirlines doesn't offer Antwerp anymore:

Powdair update today:
Sion to Antwerp with be operated by CRJ200 (50 seats). Frequency increases from 4 to 5 weekly, extra flight on Sundays. And Antwerp will indeed be operated the whole year and not winter seasonal only.
I just hope they will offer some lower fares. Now they are just too expensive...
