DL31 (Boeing 767-300ER reg. N1608) eventually returned to London Heathrow and was cancelled.
Yes, and indeed there were more diversions from AMS to BRU due to the fog. See a list in our spotting forum: https://www.aviation24.be/forums/viewtopic ... 21&t=62000
A diversion is not needed when there is nothing the people on the ground at the diversion airport can do. Of course, it can hurt the feelings of people, but I think that this is normal procedure.HFD wrote: ↑17 Aug 2017, 14:43 Yesterday, at about 21HUTC, a passenger of the flight TK161 (MRU-IST) passed away when overfying Ethiopia. The cabin crew and one or two doctor(s) (passengers) tried to reanimate him for about one hour without success. When it happend, the a333 was 300-400 km from Addis Abbeba. No medical diversion (Why?).
I was on that flight, and I can't imagine a man can die in such indifference.
Some passengers, just took a quick look and continue to watch a movie or play games on the IFE.
I'm upset.

About 10 years ago I was on a diverted flight, one of the passengers suffered from a stroke! One of the other passengers was very upset with the delay as they would miss their museum visit in Amsterdam.... I will never forget that!sn26567 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2017, 16:14A diversion is not needed when there is nothing the people on the ground at the diversion airport can do. On the other hand, the indifference of many passengers is quite unacceptable. But this is becoming very common nowadays...![]()
Nope! It was Stansted (STN).
