SNBA reduces BRU-NCL frequency from 3x to 2x daily?

Post by BahrainLad »

Hi,

It seems for the next few weeks until 19/04, SNBA has reduced its frequency from 3 to 2 flights per day (they drop the 1050 departure from NCL). Why is this?

Although, if it means we get to see the A319 more often (like last Monday), I won't complain!

(Also, we're getting a daily 737 from KLM as part of their 5x daily service!)

I guess this is due to the Easter holiday period, which in Belgium extends from 3 to 18 April.

It is indeed unusual to see an A319 on that route.

By the way, today there was an extra flight from Newcastle to Brussels:

eta 11:25 Newcastle AEU 835 Image B737-700

When I wanted to look for the airline on http://www.airlinecodes.co.uk/ I got the error message:

The airline is : 5W/AEU - Astraeus
Don't worry SN, just a problem with their servers.

Astraeus is a UK charter airline. You would see alot of them at Gatwick and I have seen them in Manchester. And NCL getting the A319? So that's why they've gone from BHX

Another piece of info for you about that airline Vance - the lead singer of Iron Maiden works as a First Officer for them!

Astraeus were featured in "Airliner World" a few months back, and that's where I read about the Iron Maiden singer. I think he is based in Gatwick.

The 1630 departure was again operated by an A319 today. Getting used to seeing them at NCL/EGNT!

(Altho knowing my luck they will replace with the usual RJ100 next time I fly.....!)

Have seen the A319 quite a bit since I posted this thread, including this afternoon (OO-SSM).

Together with the KLM 737 it's nice to see some European heavies at Newcastle.

All we need now is for AF to add a 318 or 319......!

You call and A319 or B737 a heavy :?:

By the way, have you seen the small sticker in the front of OO-SSM. It says "Xandee passionate about you"
