Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures

Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
Don't forget that the flights operated for Tour Operators and Charter flights are not included in the monthly statistics. So HQ can help but a big part of the flights are not regular flights!
Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
These will be scheduled ops (on which SN will also sell its own tickets), not charters.
Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
But if they take Thomas Cook over they can not make regular flights from all the flights.
For example they will never implement regular flights to Camiso,Enfida etc...
Hasta la victoria siempre.
Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
I don't see why not. Obviously on many of these destinations the majority of the capacity and in some cases even full flights will be blocked for HQ, but the remaining seats will be open for sale via SN's regular sales channels. Same like many of the already existing scheduled leisure routes like Rhodes, Funchal, Comiso, Jerez, all Corsican routes, etc.
The point of taking over these flights is much more than just taking over a charter business. Of course there might be a few small destinations that don't prove very viable on the seat-only market (but even then, if Thomas Cook buys 80-95% or so of the capacity on such routes it's not an issue either) and that might not be available via regular sales channels for seat-only sales. But that's not the aim of the game
Btw don't forget that HQ also puts its flights in the seat-only market already (so as scheduled flights). There still are pure charters but for the rest it are already scheduled flights on which x% of the capacity is blocked for the package deals of the touroperator. But HQ never reached the success of JAF/TUI in that market.
Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
Nobody mentioned the steady increase of the market share of Brussels Airlines in the Brussels Airport traffic: now at 38.15% for June. And growing! Without taking into account the charter flights operated by SN.

SN puts in their b inspired magazine of July that they have 11 destinations in Italy.lumumba wrote: ↑11 Jul 2017, 22:08But if they take Thomas Cook over they can not make regular flights from all the flights.

ComIso, Palermo, Olbia etc are regular flight.
Maybe only for Sumer season.
So traffic figures will include all this destinations.
See also Map on p.112: all blue dots are SN destinations. Not charter.
Of course they are mostly holiday destinations, so seasonal most probably.

Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
Well indeed we see another semester "in the green" (all results better than the year before). When we compare the first six months of 2015, 2016 and 2017, there is good evolution. Whereas in 2015 the average seat load factor was about 69,8% it climbed upto 71,4 in 2016, and reaches 75% in 2017 only janari had a lower loading factor. But the other months were better, especially april, may and june 2017 were fine (all +76% load factors). Can't wait for july and august figures.

Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
There is no BRU statistics topic.
Interesting to see that BRU says the increase is mainly due to Brussels Airlines though!

Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
Question is: will SN hit the 900.000 pax mark for the month of July (they had 788.000 in July 2016). I think so. If it would not be the case, then certainly in September it will be (they had 814.000 pax in September 2016).
Also, when the integration of Thomas Cook will be a fact, in summer 2018 they will easily go beyond the 1.000.000 mark ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
Since the start, almost 37 000 passengers flew to Mumbai, from this winterseason on, Brussels Airlines will increase the frequency to Mumbai with 1 extra flight per week. BRU BOM will have an extra flight on saturday, BOM BRU will have an extra flight on Sunday.
Giving the following scheme:

Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
WOOOOW!!! Almost daily to BOM ?! What does explain such a great success? It proves that SN can succeed on the l/h market outside its classic "african garden" or North America! Hoping for a new dot farther in the East (SIN, HKG) now! And what about the codeshare with NH to TYO?Oiseau du Ciel wrote: ↑07 Aug 2017, 21:54 Since the start, almost 37 000 passengers flew to Mumbai, from this winterseason on, Brussels Airlines will increase the frequency to Mumbai with 1 extra flight per week. Re: Brussels Airlines' monthly traffic figures
I realize you're a fan, but the route to BOM was 'almost daily' from the start. Sure, the addition of 1 weekly flight is good news, but not as spectacular as you make it out to be.brusselsairlinesfan wrote: ↑07 Aug 2017, 23:17WOOOOW!!! Almost daily to BOM ?! With which aircraft should SN fly farther east? I'm not exactly sure about the practical range of SN's A330's, but it's likely somewhere between 4400 and 5400 mi. As you'll see below much further East is impossible And it's unlikely SN will get a new plane just for 1 destination, so new destinations should be expected in the light area imo. In Asia that makes PEK or DEL the most likely candidates.

Figures from July are very impressive too! LF above 85%.

It can only be growing:luchtzak wrote: ↑09 Aug 2017, 15:11Let's calculate the market share!convair wrote: ↑09 Aug 2017, 15:07 Figures from July are very impressive too! LF above 85%.

BRU: +6.9%
SN: +11.3%
The actual market share in July is 876,717 / 2,565,044 = 34.17 %
It would also be interesting to calculate the YTD market share, but if BRU gives a YTD figure of 14,115,986 pax, SN doesn't give a comparable figure and I am too lazy to go through the 7 monthly reports to calculate it
