737 at EBAW/ANR is not absolutely impossible, at one time SN operated 737's on ANR-LHR. But that was before the days of -700 or -800 models, I think. And even on the smaller variants, the load calculations were all but easy, as I was told.
Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
that were 737-200, and sometimes a 737-300 from Sobelair
but the distance was only 380 km

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
According to this article (Dutch): A Boeing 737 Short Field Performance Pack would reduce the required runway length to 1500m...The runway of ANR is 1510m.
(The article mentions Ryanair. They use a 737-800 fleet with max seats configuration)
Would this mean that a Boeing 737 can operate at ANR with such a Performance Pack or is the margin too small
Would certainly open up opportunities at ANR for further destinations

Recurrent red figures, regional subsidies scrutinised by the EU, it all reminds me of another Belgian airport...Passenger wrote: ↑24 Jun 2017, 13:58 Very long interview with Marcel Buelens in today's Gazet van Antwerpen:

Indeed nice (long...) video, that also includes departure. But the author could have cut a few minutes when nothing happens after the embarkation of the Olympiakos players and the moment the plane starts moving.

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
What is the difference in ANR having commercial flights with a A320/B737 and Chios airport(LGHI)?
They seem to have the same lenght of runway...
I remember my flight more than 20 years ago, the captain said that he would have to brake very hard due to the short runway @chios.

excactly, don't understand all the commotion I mean it's the client that hires an airplane from a certain airport. It's just a simple private charter, if it would have been a regional aircraft there wouldn't be a headliner in HLN... and didn't Air Belgium landed with a 757 back in the days? same as SN and VEX during the wings for children event a couple of years a go ?ostair wrote: ↑16 Jul 2017, 23:15 What is the difference in ANR having commercial flights with a A320/B737 and Chios airport(LGHI)?

Last Saturday, an aircraft on final approach has damaged a roof from a house on the Boechoutsesteenweg in Borsbeek. The house owner told local tv news ATV that the airport explained what exactly caused it, that the airport apologized three times, and they will fix it.

According to flightlevel.be, a new Hungarian start-up airline (Ronan Air, which hasn't started flying yet) has put ANR on its list of destinations with ATR72-500 aircraft. Another hopeful? The website www.ronanair.com isn't active yet...
