So basically, Antwerp is out of the picture.
Pitty, because the name VLM was always associated with Antwerp.
I think they should rename the brand.

Damn. Was it really that hard for them to find someone who is fluent in English to proofread their presentation? I don't think I've ever seen a supposedly professional presentation with so many spelling / syntax / grammatical mistakes in it. From 'aircrafts' (multiple times) to 'shoping mall', 'aplications' and 'recieve', and beautiful sentences like 'We have considered that in the next year, the opening of the Simulation center for pilot training' and 'Maribor is possible a hub for circular economy for Eastern Europe'.Mariborchanka wrote: ↑03 Mar 2017, 10:18 Here are the slides from the presentation:

I may be nitpicking here, but this doesn't exactly inspire confidence...
Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
Not only ANR, but all of Belgium. Strange for an airline with a Belgian AOC (well, not yet, but...)

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
If you have a look at their presentation you can see their planned network including routes from ANR and OST. You can also read that they plan to have 2 AOCs: one in Belgium and one with 320 and 330 in Slovenia.

Contributes a lot to their credibility, doesn't it?teach wrote: ↑03 Mar 2017, 11:02 Damn. Was it really that hard for them to find someone who is fluent in English to proofread their presentation? from EX-YU Navigation
VLM Slovenia to launch eleven routes from Maribor
The new operators of Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport, the 60% Dutch and 40% Canadian-owned SHS Aviation, have announced the launch of a new Slovenian carrier which has plans to overtake Adria Airways as the country's main airline. Outlining the company's plans, the head of SHS Aviation announced yesterday that the new carrier will commence operations this summer and is in the process of acquiring six Airbus A320 and fifteen Airbus A330 aircraft, all of which will be registered in Slovenia. Their arrival is expected from June onwards. The company intends to commence eleven routes out of Maribor this year, including Belgrade, Berlin, Hamburg, London, Podgorica, Split and Zurich in Europe, as well as Xi'an, Chongqing and Nanchang in China. The Mayor of Maribor, Andrej Fištravec, said Slovenia's second largest city will become a global player and specialist for Asian travellers.

I wasn't able to open the presentation ... but I wrote about the 2 AOC's: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/vlm-air ... r-airport/koninckske wrote: ↑03 Mar 2017, 12:56 If you have a look at their presentation you can see their planned network including routes from ANR and OST. This is many times the size of start-up Air Belgium, which is headed by a serious businessman knowing aviation very well as former boss of TNT Airlines.
What are the credentials of the people at the helm of SHS Aviation? Harm Prins failed several times. I don't know about the Chinese.
But personally I don't see this airline ever taking off...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
So it's bye bye VLM. What's the point of keeping the VLM name if they'll leave Belgium!? They better choose a new name. Air Slovenia maybe. Anyway, I don't care anymore. RIP VLM.
Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
Bye VLM and AIR BELGIUM is more than welcome!
Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
Let's -indeed- look at the bright side: with VLM out of the way, the path is wide open for the Asia operations of Air Belgium. Let's hope they'll succeed!
One last thing about VLM: this is what happens with Dutch "investors". They couldn't care less about Belgium. Such a pity we like to sell so many companies to these people. Take Delhaize for example. Since it has become Dutch, I avoid them like the plague.

This is a huge joke. Poor people from maribor who will empty their pocket with subsidies...
My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.

To me this presentation is aimed at possible investors... who will lose their money quicker than an FR flights turn around time...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
I agree. RIP VLM. Was looking forward to seen them back flying in Antwerp.
I consider VLM now as "over and out". Let's hope one day there will be a VLM 2.0 in EBAW.
Then i am still wondering why they want to have a belgian AOC if they can get it in Slovenia.
