My guess why a one way and a return are so expensive: Brussels Airlines doesn’t want you to book them. They need the seats as feeder, mainly for their Africa passengers. By making them expensive as stand-alone flight, not too many people book them as such, thus allways leaving availability for transfer-pax. And if someone really wants to fly BRU-CDG-BRU, they have to compensate for the missed revenue of the long haul.
Brussels-Paris / Belgium-Paris is a route for the Thalys, not for an airline.

I do fully agree... Except maybe for the people located / aiming to travel in both CDG and BRU direct neighborhood...
Regarding the prices for this specific route, I have the feeling that the brussels airlines approach on it does vary... Last year, you still could find some tickets priced around 90 EUR return... Which is not possible anymore unfortunately
Maybe a stupid question ? Today 31 of december a new day with 3 SN flights to and from CDG. One from ASL and 2 with SN metal.
Flights 3628 (ASL) and 3634 arrived more or less on time for connections with AFRICA. The last SN flight of the day to Africa was the flight to OUA and ABJ. It départs at 12h15 today.
The 3rd one flight from CDG, SN 3632, arrived @ 12h23. Does it mean the aircraft was empty ?
Thanks and wonderful year for aviation industry and all of members of this site.

Flight was delayed out off BRU due to weather at destination.
So inbound back to BRU also delayed with almost 3 hours. Without the delay it would arrived perfect for the AFI connections.

So...not empty. Thx for explanation...and 160 passengers in a hotel this night waiting a "future" flight ?
The PAX of one of those 3 flight are sometimes on another one depending of when they are arriving at the airport, usually the third flight depart full from brussels and come back from Paris almost employ because the PAX are already in the other flight.
What can also happened is to put all the pax of a same connecting flight (Dakar) for example on the same CDG-BRU delayed flight and then the connecting flight wait for them.
The CDG is really a flight apart, and it never happened that a passenger from Paris miss his connecting flight because of the delay of the CDG-BRU. Unless an unforeseen situation of course like an airport close or so

I understood perfectly. Thx. So the 3rd flight back to BRU was empty ! All african flights were on time today !

Do they still operate 3 rotations/day since the January, 1st 2017?
No. It was only the first week of 2017. They fly 2 times now.
Thank you for the information.
As a big "SN fan", I aim to fly them as often as possible. The only thing that frustrates me is that as a french guy living in Paris, you cannot book the single CDG-BRU-CDG legs anymore... Moreover, you cannot even book transfer flights from CDG to brussels airlines airlines european destinations anymore. Only connecting flights to selected long haul destinations are bookable from CDG through BRU now... how frustrating for me!
Now the only solution for me is to drive (or catch a Thaly train) from Paris to Brussels airport
Btw, does anyone (SN insider maybe...) know if we can expect/hope for SN reopening bookings for the CDG-BRU leg only or even for CDG-Europe throughout BRU trips?
