Spud-U-Like is best - wonderful cheese filled jacket potatoes and a hot drink for less than £3. There is one in Victoria Station in London and one near Manchester Piccadilly which we always go to. Probably the healthiest fast food.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

I voted McDonalds.

I worked in a McDonalds restaurant for 3 years (weekends & holiday's) and had to make all sorts of hamburgers !
Off course I also like the hamburgers I made  After 4 hours of work, we'd get a crew-meal (medium menu) and I never said no to that :)

Well I go not very often to a fast food restaurant, or to tell the truth never. If I am in a fast food restaurant than it is in the McDonald's along runway 27 @ AMS. So I voted for McDonalds. I've never visited the other restaurants only Burger King a few times. ;)

I have eaten in McDonalds and Burger King - usually fish burgers with fries. I can't really rave about those two chains, but when you are in somewhere as expensive as Scandinavia, you have to sometimes eat in these kinds of places. We used to go to Pizza Hut because I liked the garlic mushrooms, but when we saw in a "Restaurants from Hell" programme that several of their places had been found contaminated with mouse muck we have given them a wide berth ever since.

I would like to try Taco Bell, we saw loads of them in LA, and I like that kind of thing - enchiladas, fajitas, tacos and burritos. They must not however contain any beans so I have to watch what I eat with things like that.

We had loads of fried chicken in Reykjavik but Icelandic fish is very good.

Taco Bell is pretty good but if you are in the mood for real Mexican food, I wouldn't recomend it. The tacos at Taco Bell don't have beans in them.

Also, you could get the Nachos Bel Grande with out beans and it would just have nacho cheese, beef, and the Taco Bell sauce of your choice (ie: Mild, Hot, Fire).
Onward and Upward...

I had forgotten all about nachos until I just read your last post - I love them as well, and here in the UK it is easy to get them without beans in them.

A few years ago, one of the best restaurants there ever was in Scarborough used to serve brilliant American and Mexican food, and they did a great taco, and also great fajitas. It was owned by a guy from San Fransisco, and kitteed out like an old American diner inside. He also had a display of rare American and Mexican beers. Sadly this legend of a place closed down, and now there is an Italian place where this gem once was

Shaffer's -one of Scarborough's best ever eateries!

Another demonstration of imperialism! Don't forget Quick is Belgian!

Anyway, to me, fast food is junk food.

Yes, but McDonalds is the original, and the original is always better than the copy!

P.S.: I booked my tickets to Cyprus at KLM in stead of SNBA, and does that make me a bad Belgian?

There is nothing wrong with fast food!!!

If you mean fast in the literal sense, then what about stir fried food? That's cooked fast yet it is one of the healthiest ways to cook! Certainly not junk!!

Fish and chips are wonderful, they are fast food!!

Jacket potatoes like you get at Spud-U-Like are also fast food, and they are extremely healthy.

So not all "fast food" is "junk" food

Terenia - I agree that most fast food is junk - mainly the massive groups like McDonalds, Burger King, KFC and Pizza Hut - they are gross. But some is good. We have a really good Chinese take away near where we live, and you can see them cook all your food, so you know it is done properly and they are not spitting in it (something else I saw in "Restaurants from Hell"). You could class that as fast food, but it is good food.

And Spud-U-Like really is worth trying for quick, good value and good food here in England. You see your food being prepared in there as well.

Yes, what about a fast green salad?
Or a fast 100% OJ?
Or a fast unsweetened yogurt?
Or just a handful of sunflowerseeds, fast?
Or now and then a fast 'fast'?
