Really impressive. It means ( january > june included )Bralo20 wrote:Brussels Airlines released their numbers for last month:

Decrease in cargo but increase in pax.
2015 : 3.473.589 passengers
2016 : 3.418.355 passengers
When we know what's happened in march @ BRU...
Normally after this summer the passengers'numbers will grow up again 2016 vs 2015 ! Great to see !

At the same time, the number of pax at BRU has decreased in June, year-to-year. That means that SN is increasing again its market share in BRU.

Indeed impressive. Not only if you take into account what happened in March, but also knowing that the load factor remained stable despite adding more capacity (1 Avro left but 1A330 added along with A320 and A319s and wetleases).

37% market share for SN @ BRU : Nice shift compared to 3 years ago!

I would be very careful with that figure. SN figures includes traffic from ANR/LGG. SN also got priority to relocate its flights back to BRU; Jetairfly, Ryanair, etc all moved to BRU (much) later.brusselsairlinesfan wrote:37% market share for SN @ BRU : Nice shift compared to 3 years ago!

Agree for May, but this is no longer true for June.DeltaWiskey wrote:I would be very careful with that figure. SN figures includes traffic from ANR/LGG. Indeed André,
You are right. I keep the figures for BRU and SN, month by month and since the beginning of the year the figures look like this:
%BRU 31 33 38 50 35 36
But for March (38) and April (50) these figures are influenced by operations outside BRU on the one hand and the fact that many operator did not yet come back in April. The figure is also influenced of course by the departure of 9W.
Regarding the number of pax for the whole year. My estimate is that SN will end up with around 7.6 million pax, a slight increase year-on-year. The real jump will be next year ('regular' months March/April; extension 10th A330 etc.). Next year they should easily go over 8.0 million.
Cheers,
Danny

It is quite the opposite, increasing frequencies leads to an increased load factor.OO-ITR wrote:Indeed impressive. When growth is not accompanied by an increase in load factor it often not sustainable.

My calculation was based on the June figures for both BRU & SN!DeltaWiskey wrote:I would be very careful with that figure. SN figures includes traffic from ANR/LGG. Where did I talk about increased frequencies?Poiu wrote:It is quite the opposite, increasing frequencies leads to an increased load factor.OO-ITR wrote:Indeed impressive. I was talking about larger and more aircraft, where normally it has a (negative) effect on the load factor.

I guess you're right and I think intellectual honesty you will agree not to take into account the March April and May figures distorted by the attacks ...Poiu wrote:It is quite the opposite, increasing frequencies leads to an increased load factor.OO-ITR wrote:Indeed impressive. So : january 2016 : SN > + 8,5% passengers and load factor : +7,8%%
fébruary 2016 : SN > +15,8% passengers and load factor : +6,9%
To take into account too : 2 Avro out + 1 A330 + 2 A319 + 1 A320 IN > more capacity !
I guess they find the right way...wait and see in the future but not too afraid !
Re: Brussels Airlines June '16 figures: +3,8% pax
1 Avro out because the second left only recently. And not to forget all the wetleasesnordikcam wrote:I guess you're right and I think intellectual honesty you will agree not to take into account the March April and May figures distorted by the attacks ...Poiu wrote:It is quite the opposite, increasing frequencies leads to an increased load factor.OO-ITR wrote:Indeed impressive.
