Now more specific news. I'm sure that this will make Air France pilots very popular among football fans:sn26567 wrote:Pilots at Air France voted on Monday in favour of a long strike, due to upcoming pay cuts. Air France pilots union calls for labour strike during Euro 2016
Air France’s pilot unions have called on members to strike during the first week of the Euro 2016 soccer championship in a protest over pay.
The unions said in a joint statement they planned to strike from June 11 until June 14 and might schedule further strikes a few days later if necessary. The soccer tournament begins in Paris on June 10 and will run until July 10.
The strike call was by unions Syndicat National des Pilotes de Ligne (SNPL), which represents more than half of the airline’s pilots, and SPAF, which represents about a quarter.
Air France said in a statement the four-day strike came as the airline was returning to profit after eight years of losses and that it jeopardised the future of the company.

The Alitalia cabin crew consider striking about their (beautiful) new uniforms developed by designer Ettore Bilotta, which they consider as unsafe because they would not be fire-resistant.
No decision has been taken yet on the dates of the strike...

Possible strike by airport security employees at Oslo Airport. SAS flights will nevertheless operate according to schedule. No news about Brussels Airlines flights, but I guess they will also operate according to schedule.
And, concerning SAS, SAS Scandinavian Airlines and the Norwegian pilot unions have not yet reached an agreement within the set deadline and agreed to continue the mediation process in overtime. A strike might be looming...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2016
The Flemish (for a change) wings of the two unions ABVV/FGTB and ACV/CSC of airport handlers Aviapartner and Swissport have filed a notice of indefinite strike at Brussels Airport. The unions denounce a equipment problem and a delay in the payment of overtime hours caused by the attacks of 22 March.
At present, no date is given for a possible strike and notice runs from Friday 10 June.
Almost a month ago, the Aviapartner workers were already on the frontline. Baggage handlers and part of the passenger service had then stopped work for a few hours. They put on the table the lack of recognition of the flexibility of the staff after the attacks of 22 March. They returned to work in the evening.
The problems invoked at that time seem to be unresolved. These included the compensation of kilometres travelled by staff dispatched to other airports in the country following the attacks of 22 March.

It seems to be a bit different from "a protest over pay", as the French unions told the press. Reports in the Dutch press state that Air France pilots think that KLM pilots gets a better treatment, and that KLM benefits too much from the merger then was initially agreed.sn26567 wrote:Now more specific news.
