Please stop with those ridiculous numbers, or show us a proof (other than a press article)...
Regarding flexibility... when you're at your maximum, there's not much more you can do...

Will Belgocontrol FAQ suffice? https://www.belgocontrol.be/faq-atc: "After you succeed the unit training your salary will amount to at least € 6.200 gross/month." 6.200*13=80.600. And that's the very minimum, so the 6-figures is a realistic number for most staff.

Again you ignore that the guild (which represents 80% of ATCO's according to you) is calling for no flexibility at all, that's something totally different from the situation where 'not much more you can do' applies.

... and 7 * 80.600 does not make a million, not by a long way. Genen toogpraat, aub. Even if the 6.200 is indeed a minimum (and a nice one, one must admit), we know nothing about the effective average figures.

Besides, I understood ATC staff, like all employees, get their pay for doing their job, as defined in the contract; not for being "flexible" in the interpretation of the terms of that contract.

Hence I said 'most'. De Tijd mentioned that the average is E 144k, and I see no reason to doubt that number. Either way it's a lot.

ATC staff don't get paid like all employees, hence something more can be expected where it comes to work ethic. The mentality of 'I only do what's in the contract and not a step more' doesn't fly (pun intended) with other 6-figure jobs either. That's exactly the sense of entitlement that brought so much hate upon them; they want to get payed like CEO's, but have the work ethic of a bus driver.

Try this: you're asked to come to work for a few hours on a day that you had planned to cut the green green grass at home. If you say no, you know that your airport has to close, leaving a few thousand passengers stranded, causing damage of a few hundred thousands of real Euro's for both airlines and passengers. So you tell your wife that you will cut the grass later that afternoon i.s.o. early morning. That's "flexibility".

Just like Manuel from Fawlty Towers: he also knows nothing (but he is from Barcelona). Some 20 different news sites have recently published more then enough details about the salary and bonuses. Did you really missed all of them?

Thats what I thought, but Nevihta (who seems ATCO himself) mentioned it is 80%.
80%? We read in the press that it is 80 ATCOs, out of a total of about 250...

Ha, so my informations are reliable ?
It's too easy to choose the ones that help you...

De Tijd mentioned 80 members, and you see a reason to doubt that number...

Please try to be intellectually honest and not to choose the sources just when they 're ok for you...
