A small Easter gift for spotters in LGG:
Since YYZ is currently not operating, as from tomorrow an A330 will be deployed on our key medium haul routes to cope with very high volume and the lower than normal frequencies on those routes: tomorrow an A330 will be used on MAD.

Sonho1985 wrote:Went to the TAP-desk here at Pinto Martins airport in Fortaleza, as the information on their site is rather unexisting about the BRU-situation. Their Brazil-callcenter is very busy and the terminal is only 10 minutes away so...

The lady was't really helpful. "In the system the flight LIS-BRU for Sunday april 2 still exists and is even for sale so you will find out on the day of your journey."

Now let us be realistic. The chance that TP will operate at BRU this weekend is about what... 5 to 10%?
If I would end up in OST or maybe LGG, okay. But if I will be put on a plane to ORY or AMS I need to know it in advance (arrange someone for pick-up or maybe book a Thalys ticket).

Is dencend communication that hard?

Tomorrow morning I am gonna try the Brussels call center. It will cost me, but need to know...
I think the chances are very big you'll end up in OST. Not too sure about transportation from the airport, there are a lot of busses coming and going, but I think most if not all are from JAF. If there's no transportation provided by the airline, there's still a public transport bus to the Ostend train station or you can take a cab. Apparently the airline should compensate 'reasonable' travel expenses.

American Airlines halts Brussels flights

Mar 29, 2016

FORT WORTH, TX - American Airlines has cancelled all flights to and from Brussels until April 7 in what appears to be further response to the terrorist attacks that killed 32 people and injured hundreds last week.

May I know where you have found this information? I'm flying with AA from BRU on April 27 and their Belgian website is not up to date w.r.t. the Brussels Attacks...

BTW, do we know how the check in is done at LGG & OST?

Are the check-in counters staffed by the BRU agents? Such as LH, IB, BA agents?

Are the tickets issued for any further legs? Such as LHR to YVR or MAD to EZE ? I had a bad experience months ago in LGG with BMI regional to MUC where the 2nd boarding pass was not issued in LGG which is bad when you have a very short connection in MUC

Should we also assume that online check in is not possible in LDD & OST ?

On the video link i gave higher up, flemish tourists mention they fly to Cuba via MAD with a short connection. So I guess they try as much as possible to make it smooth.

I also heard there are quite some delay for departure due to the size of the building and the small amount of desks.
But that the arrivals as super fast and easy (bags arrive before the bus).

I have seen Aviapartner staff from BRU and obviously JAF staff from BRU at OST. Also, station managers from the various airlines that have diverted there are also present when their flights arrive and leave.

We've been telling a lot about antwerp and liege, but some airlines have chosen lille as temporary solution.
Personally, I think that is a very odd choice despite the relatively short distance from BXL, given people going overthere from Belgium as well as all landing at the airport could potentially face long boarder security checks in the wake of the Paris attacks on top of the delays to be expected from handeling too many flights at this regional airport. Anyone an idea how smooth things go there, because I am really curious to know?

Due to the Brussels Airport closure all flights on March 29 and 30 on the Warsaw-Brussels-Warsaw route, that is, flights number LO232, LO235, LO236, LO233, LO234, LO231 as well as flight number LO232 on March 31 have been cancelled.

Decisions on other flights cancellation will be taken based on further notice provided by the Brussels Zaventem Airport authorities. LOT’s passengers are taken care of. We offer them the possibility of rebooking on other flights to nearby towns (subject to seats availability) or changing the reservation on the first available flight to and from Brussels.

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) hereby confirms flights Bangkok-Brussels-Bangkok TG934/TG935 of 31 March to be rescheduled into Bangkok-Liège-Bangkok with new schedule as follow due to Brussels Zaventem Airport in Belgium still closed following the airport explosions of 22 March.
TG934 Bangkok (BKK) – Liège (LGG) : departure on 31 March in Bangkok at 11h00 (Bangkok time) with arrival in Liège on 31 March at 18h30 (Belgium time)
TG935 Liège (LGG) – Bangkok (BKK) : departure on 31 March in Liège at 23h00 (Belgium time) with arrival in Bangkok on 1 April at 14h45 (Bangkok time)
Liège airport (LGG) is a regional airport located in South of Belgium, located approximately 1 hour by train or car from Brussels.
In case your booking from/to Brussels still existed, you will be automatically rebooked into Liège flights with new schedule and your original ticket will be accepted accordingly at check-in in Bangkok or Liège.
In case you have been already rebooked into another airport (e.g. Paris or Frankfurt), you have to contact your travel agent or THAI office in case you want to change to Liège flights, subject to seats available. You can only travel on Liège flights with confirmed booking from/to Liège.
If you have a connecting flight in Bangkok, please note that the arrival in Bangkok is now later than original booking. In that case, please contact your travel agent to rebook the connecting flight if needed or contact your THAI office in case you booked online on THAI website.
Please note that for both arrival and departure in Liège, passengers have to arrange their own transport. Liège airport provides free shuttle bus between Liège airport and Liège train station. For check-in Liège-Bangkok on 31 March, passengers have to arrive at check-in counters minimum 3.5 hours before departure.
Concerning flights TG934/TG935 Bangkok-Brussels-Bangkok as from 2 April16 onwards, further updates will be provided soonest.
