Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks
The Belgian Federal Public Service of Mobility -through De Tijd- stresses that even in case of rerouting due to acts of terror, the airline must provide all of its affected passengers with free transport between their original point of departure/arrival and the new one, wherever that may be.

All Belgian airlines are honoring this responsibility in full, but according to De Tijd, ryanair isn't.
Disappointing to learn that once again, minimum legal standards can apparently not be honored by everybody in this industry.

Initially, Jetairfly was also dropping passengers landing in Ostend at the Wetteren petrol station on the E40. Fortunately they changed their mind.Inquirer wrote:All Belgian airlines are honoring this responsibility in full.

Also de VRT is now running a story about your rights as a passenger under the given circumstances:

Seems indeed like not all the big players in Belgium are following the European rules!

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks
I was booked on a Transavia return flight to Munich today. The flight was cancelled of course, and I had the choice between being reimbursed or rebooked on an flight within 14 days. I will thus fly on 5 April, one week from today, if....

"Funny" today, an Airbus from SN from LGG to BRU crossing an airbus from SN from... BRU to LGG, probably for some maintenance ?

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks
I was surprised to read that SN stopped flying to LHR, but this is compensated by the fact that BA is now also flying to LGG (and then of course, Cityjet continues flights between LCY and ANR, with probably a high load factor)

FR is giving passengers a chance to choose a way of travel that is convenient for them, not for the airline and re-imburse their costsInquirer wrote:The Belgian Federal Public Service of Mobility -through De Tijd- stresses that even in case of rerouting due to acts of terror, the airline must provide all of its affected passengers with free transport between their original point of departure/arrival and the new one, wherever that may be.

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks
Went to the TAP-desk here at Pinto Martins airport in Fortaleza, as the information on their site is rather unexisting about the BRU-situation. Their Brazil-callcenter is very busy and the terminal is only 10 minutes away so...
The lady was't really helpful. "In the system the flight LIS-BRU for Sunday april 2 still exists and is even for sale so you will find out on the day of your journey."
Now let us be realistic. The chance that TP will operate at BRU this weekend is about what... 5 to 10%?
If I would end up in OST or maybe LGG, okay. But if I will be put on a plane to ORY or AMS I need to know it in advance (arrange someone for pick-up or maybe book a Thalys ticket).
Is dencend communication that hard?
Tomorrow morning I am gonna try the Brussels call center. It will cost me, but need to know...
