I have to admit that I have no idea what buildings you are talking about: could you please 'translate' in normal locations or somebody who can make a drawing ideally?
I suppose its not going to come at full capacity: which sirlines will be allowed in, who'll be kept away and for how long?
Thanks you.
B2 is the Swissport building (ex DHL) on the left side when you look at the "Diamant"
B5 (aka building 4)is a ex EAT/DHL building

Bag processing will be the restrictive factor, so probably charter flights will remain regional for a while.
FR and EZY, when the majority of passengers travel without checked inn bags should be less affected.

BRU aims to reopen on Tuesday morning, initally only for SN.
SN, their longhauls and the feeder routes have absolute priority.
Others will have to wait longer.

I was about to ask the same question. Is this the temporary check-in or row 11 as it doesn't look like the terminal building. On the Facebook page of VTM they mention that it is indeed the temporary check-in.

It's the temporary check-in they are currently constructing ;-)

An interesting interview on the vital function the airport of Brussels has to our countries economy and the consequences the extended closure has:

Sounds like indeed they aim for a partial reopening early next week.

I think intercontinental flights as well as regional flights bringing passengers to them should get priority because the first type is currently lacking completely whereas the second type won't put much extra stress on limited check in capacities; high volume, low added value flights to leisure destinations should logically be the last to be reinstated.

Ryanair is ideal in the start up Operations as they dont need many check in facilities :) 95% of our passengers have pre-printed boarding passes and dont carry bags.

Indeed, yet they also have a very low urgency to be re-instated first, given they are running from CRL now.
In cases like these, the airport should use its limited capacity wisely and for the best sake of the country and its economy. I think it's fair to say that re-establishing intercontinental links between Belgium and the outside world is far more valuable to our economy than being able to leave on a holiday to Spain from BRU and not from a regional airport, don't you agree?
All depends of course on the exact capacity of our national airport: the higher the better of course, but always with an eye on the order of importance, I'd say.

Of course he'll say that, he's not exactly objective. I think BRU is much less vital to Belgium, than other airports to other countries. AMS en CDG are among the 4 airports with most destinations worldwide, and less than 1.30h from Bruxelles Central.

The economy is hit much harder by what the attacks did to Belgium's image; even if the airport was open there would have been a huge decline in traffic.

It is the second most important economic pole in Belgium.

Its not a matter of urgency. Ryanair is planning to restart on wednesday together with Brussels airport. The limitations of BRU dont lay in capacity at the terminals bit capacity in check-in and screening. Intercontinental puts a much higher burden on that then any low cost carrier does.

Intercontinental pax are often transfer pax, if you can't reinstate the feeder flights at the same time it is a bit useless. All transfer pax will have to check inn again in BRU after arriving by coach from ANR/LGG.
It would be logic to give priority to local traffic, which has the advantage, as Sean said, to put little to no pressure on the weakest link.
I think local pax are much more important for the Belgian economy than transfer passengers.

Priority should be given to Brussels Airlines, the number 1 airline in Belgium. Period.

Belgium? What's that?

(sorry, couldn't resist. And yes, I do know and do agree we are not discussing politics here. What is Belgium, then, except a political entity?)

A better point could have been
Brussels airport company might be wise to offer due priority to their prime and main customer
