The unserved route of the week: Brussels-Glasgow
Every week, anna.aero looks at an unserved market. This week, the "winner" is Glasgow-Brussels. anna.aero shows that the market is there, waiting to be filled.
I do remember flying Brussels-Glasgow in the 1990s on a Sabena Fokker F28 operating a triangular flight Brussels-Glasgow-Edinburgh-Brussels.
Will SN take the challenge? With a bmi ERJ-145?

Who wants to go to Glasco' anyway? A centre of politics and finance, Brussels has much stronger ties with nearby Edinborough - which has its service, I believe.

Hi,
Indeed EDI is well served... by SN and formely also with BMI regional E145 service...
The last one was axed...
Glasgow has pretty good attractions but maybe not so much business..
I know a lot of people who need to travel there for more cultural activities...
Theatre-art, music-scene, Art-scene and lot of archetecture symposia...
Guess a 3/4 weekly rotation can fill a demand...
As SN is only putting leased materials on such routes I still guess Easy would be the better option.
SN leased materials routings aren't really nice priced... and this people are price-sensitive..
Therefor I even guess the FR Prestwick was the best option :/

Everytime I fly to EDDI I actually have to be in Glasgow. EDI s big advantage however is that it s located between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
I prefer SN to increase the frequency on EDI over starting GLA as the time lost by flying to EDI will be around 20min...
Cheers

Goodmorning,
BRU - GLA would be great for me. We have three important customers in the direct neighborhood of the airport. One is less than 500 m from the runway actually.
Used to take KLM out of AMS. Now I fly ANR - LCY - GLA with Cityjet en British Airways.

Re: The unserved route of the week: Brussels-Glasgow
It takes about as long to get from Glasgow airport to Glasgow (with traffic) as it does to get from Edinburgh to Glasgow. It's a straight run down the motorway from EDI, and I guess there is more demand to EDI than GLA. I remember flying EDI-BRU on the BMI Regional ERJ145 some time ago, and the majority of passengers were involved in political matters with the EU.
