Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I just have a small of topic remark to do. There are a lot of people anthousiast in this forum, this is great. Some people willing to share some information, this is great too but to a certain point. For the people working for SN, I must say that we have the chance to work for a company wich is transparent about their plan, Informing the employees before this become something official. But those information that we know must not be divulg here. In other Word, what is said during the b.meeting doesn't have to apear here. Hoping I'm clear. Thanks
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I'm not working for SN, but I totally agree. This will eventually turn into your disadvantage as the management will decrease the amount of such high level information until the official announcements and then you get nothing else than mere rumours. While I like to read such positive news, it's not in the best interest of SN to publish it on public forums.crew1990 wrote:I just have a small of topic remark to do. Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Just to put things in perspective: someone had posted a message giving some (small) inside information about the future of the SN long-haul fleet. This provoked some reactions from other insiders, which compelled the web team to remove this post.
As a general remark, when someone has inside information, he can send it privately to the web team by PM, but he should not post it in a public forum before the embargo is lifted.

Hi,
Haha... sorry but this is .... so wrong..
You can tell it to the webteam, but not to the world
So the webteam knows all the nice stories but the rest of luchtzakmembers not
Okay, sorry webteam but what makes you more important then the rest
If it is confidential... tell anyone
If you still want to share but it's only for the webteam please post on flightlevel,airliners.net
Guess sharing the info is a risk for the men behind the avatar, and if it can't be shared before a certain date it is SN itself who has to take action not a webteam...
Or do I see here certain difference ?
luchtzakkers are green but some are more green then others !
OMG
You know I like luchtzak but now... shame on you...

Okay, going into details is a big no, but was it good and/or spectacular? The information I mean...?

Luchtzak, this is very disappointing! You also show bias towards SN! If 9W inside information is shared then that's fine and mods will happily join the discussion. If SN inside information is shared it's removed... Why the difference, I thought Luchzak is neutral

On the other hand, can't blame a business for wanting to keep their secrets guarded

Cause SN's social media team and even our CEO are following Luchtzak too, and they contact the mods when something is still under embargo?Jetter wrote:Luchtzak, this is very disappointing! Hey guys, keep it cool. When we see that some confidential information is posted by insiders AGAINST company policy or BEFORE an embargo, we have the legal obligation to remove it, especially if another insider raises objections against such publication. This has been the case with the recent information on SN fleet that was posted earlier.
In the 9W issue, nobody ever told that any information posted here was confidential; if it had been the case, we would have removed it as well.
About sending confidential information to the web team, this happens very often, because the authors know that it will be kept confidential as long as necessary and that we will respect an embargo. And I know for sure that our colleagues of Flightlevel also get such information and keep it for themselves until it may be released publicly.
I hope this clarifies the issue and will allow us to come back to the topic: SN's fleet renewal.

Everyone is allowed to express his/her views, as long as he/she follows the rules. And the moderators try to be as neutral as possible in moderating the forum (although of course they are also allowed to express their personal opinion).airazurxtror wrote:You have only recently come on Luchtzak, it shows !Jetter wrote: I thought Luchzak is neutral

Other than that, I agree companies issue Press Releases under embargo to targeted venues on the basis of confidentiality. Specialist journalists regularly know things before they are supposed to know, but it also means they can not divulge the information publically unless being at risk of legal actions.
You can't expect journalists to publish background articles and in depth articles minutes after a PR release.
Not being included in the embargoed Press Releases means they are not in the know, but free to speculate.
If you don't want speculation by certain venues, it's sometimes advisable to include them in the embargo pool, although it depends over what of course, because if it's share price sensitive information for instance, it may raise governance questions too for instance.

Hi,
As I agree that certain information is confidential... just a small remark...
Luchtzak is a like pub where things are being said by persons... if one person talks too much about his work on a cafe about people and things happend on his work, will the boss off the pub shut down the light because another one in his cafe ordered him to do so ?
If this happens... would you still go to the that same cafe the next time ?
You go to the cafe with the best vibe no and where you are threated the best for your money...
Everybody chooses... you as a customer, your boss maybe .. as the same customer, ... and the master of the pub chooses which persons he like to have in his pub, which will gain the most for him I guess,... whats best for the boss only time can tell...
Just has to compete with other pubs if people get the choice once ....
Everybody can decide for themselves no?
The same thing as people goes to the club with different opinions, some drinks Stella others Guinness
Maybe a new topic can be introduced... about how to keep the best vibe, rules..
And now some nice fleet hot news hereunder please or I swop from pub haha

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
One big difference though. In a pub what's being said isn't necessarily heard or repeated for anyone to hear. Or to be remembered by the one it's being told to (having drunk too much).cathay belgium wrote:Hi,

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Euhhh... guess that people which are allowed to be in the b.meeting has enough common sense to the meaning of a forum or a pub or internet in the whole meaning.... no?
If they want to share their opinions with flightlovers, avgeeks ...this is the pub or the place to share.. they know they do something that they really don't supposed to do..
but if they do... support from everyone here I guess besides their bosses haha..
Guess really that you all really overrate the importance of luchtzak if you give the controls back to SN management... this might be a great site of belgian aviation but it isn't more then that....
AVGeeks are a small community in this region ... besides guess we -almost- all know eachother in real life also... if we just could bring the avatar with the real name lol....
It's nice too share info... but some things here posted will only be better kept away from us to surprise us even more so ...
Besides knowing they will give hints there at the b.meeting and see them here posted is also a game for them also...
Enough for me now for this discussion... moderate and go on

CxB, it is not rocket science.
If you read between the lines it's clear that BrusselsA will probably add an extra 330 to fill the Toronto gap when Jet leaves.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
After Cx-B's remark I have searched SQ on airfleets.net and apparantly they do have two fairly new frames (2009-2010) stored... Could one of them (or both) be an option?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Hi,
I also got the reg from another site, forgot which one has to check again, and it seems when I checked the frame it is probably not stored but still active for SQ now, when I checked flightradar 24, frame will be arround 8 years old... IF the info on the other site was correct offcourse...
Thats also a problem the internet nobody can check fact nor know if it is true, the fact that SN ask moderators to censor luchtzak item means we have real good facts here posted just before censoring it..
Hurray for luchtzak!
