Glad you've noticed the same thing as I did.

I agree: the socio-demographic composition of the catchment area around ostend makes that the airport is a goldmine for jetair and as a consequence for its airline, although I doubt its appeal is reproducible beyond the Spanish Costa's or its isles in the Mediterranean and off the coast of Africa, so it will always remain just a niche, one that is hard to take benefit from is you lack the correct and direct market penetration.

A similar phenomenon can be detected at Antwerp too to a certain extend if you look at which destinations jetair is having most success on (and which they drop). ;)

Sometimes, you may even need to adapt your message according to the audience :

Broad grins here - at the one story AND at the other.
The second one surely merits a place on avweb's "short final"!

Thank you guys.

If I was for something in that smile on your face then I did something good that day.

There is no specific Av Jokes topic on Luchtzak but as this exchange started with communication issue, and as a picture is worth 1000 words, I can close with this one ....

Heard today that some people from Flybe were at the airport.
Doubt if this is true.

Ostair I know that Ostend Airport management and the Flemish tourism minister (Minister Bourgeois I think) have been trying hard for sometime to attract an airline to operate flights to the UK so we can live in hope!
Anyway judging by September's figures it looks like things are slowly improving at the airport.

Carlisle airport (local giant Stobart again) would be good for me to get to Annan, but I guess that'll never happen.

Carlisle may not be a likely destination for Ostend but never say never! From my home in Dreghorn I'd be willing to drive to Carlisle if there was a direct flight to Ostend but from what I hear, Manchester is a more likely destination along with one of the three Central Scotland airports. The Flemish Government and Ostend Airport have been trying for several years to get regular flights to the UK. Flybe were in talks with airport management last week apparently.

Are there (more or less continuous) immigration services at Carlisle? If not, forget about it!

Thanks for that Flyair10. Things are starting to look up for Ostend Airport. Hopefully this will lead to more routes, airlines and passengers and hopefully some routes to the UK / Scotland.

Egis has done / is doing the same investments in Antwerp, with new routings as a direct result.

Too bad the Ostend to Rome flights weren't there in July. Maybe next year. :)

Great news.
Hope all routes will be a success in 2016.
It may attract others to give EBOS a try.

Nice-Ostend from one fashionable resort to another one...-)

A UK destination should be next on the list.
