Re: Jetairfly in 2015
Jetairfly - subsidiary of the TUI Group - will expand its fleet and open new lines, it was announced at the end of an extraordinary works council. Eight redundancies are however planned as part of the restructuring of the company and Tech4Jets. "We were also told that 18 ground service workers will be evaluated," said CCS.
Jetairfly plans to expand its fleet of aircraft and open new lines "at even more competitive prices," announced the spokesman Hans Vanhaelemeesch, without giving further details.
Jetairfly will also strengthen collaboration with other companies of the group to divide the costs including technical organization (maintenance, joint procurement and other activities on the ground). "This is not a dismantling" claims the company.

^^ Too bad the 'Belgian' name Jetair(fly) will disappear to become TUI
Re: Jetairfly in 2015
Will it? I know that the rebranding was announced in april but afaik not a single plane, website, etc... is being rebranded at the moment and wasn't it the plan to start early September?Boavida wrote:^^ Too bad the 'Belgian' name Jetair(fly) will disappear to become TUI
Re: Jetairfly in 2015
Arkefly will officially be renamed TUI on October 1st. I don't know the date for Jetairfly, but it will also happen.

Friday's outgoing Arke flight OR-317 to Miami (787 PH-TFM) should be the first one in TUI colours.sn26567 wrote:Arkefly will officially be renamed TUI on October 1st. I don't know the date for Jetairfly, but it will also happen.

Imagine what it would be when they would also have painted the engine cowlings...Predixs wrote:Rather ugly if you ask me

Or maybe just another color instead of plain black, or another font? The possibilities are endlessPassenger wrote:Imagine what it would be when they would also have painted the engine cowlings...Predixs wrote:Rather ugly if you ask me

Although the name hasn't officially changed yet, this morning the first TUI Dreamliner has left the hangar in Amsterdam Schiphol in the new TUI brand design.

Re: Jetairfly in 2015
Actually they started as TUI Airlines Belgium before they used "Jetairfly" and it was still in small letters on their aircraft, nevertheless Jetairfly was more known in the local market...ICAO code is still TB (TUI Belgium)Boavida wrote:^^ Too bad the 'Belgian' name Jetair(fly) will disappear to become TUI
Re: Jetairfly in 2015
I think it's a shame. JAF really succeeded at building a good recognisable brand. Even granny and grandpa know "jetair". I dont think will switch soon to: Lets take a TUI Belgium flight :/
(On the other hand, it doesnt always have to be a problem, a lot of old people I know still fly SABENA too
)

Not only old(er) people, I know quite a few of young(er) people who are calling Brussels Sabena and those were (as a figure of speach) in their diapers when Sabena went bankrupt.sean1982 wrote: (On the other hand, it doesnt always have to be a problem, a lot of old people I know still fly SABENA too)
I even notice that I use Sabena from time to time when refering to Brussels (But I'm getting old

Re: Jetairfly in 2015
On the other hand, there was a frequent confusion between Jetair (the tour operator) and Jetairfly (the airline). That won't be any more.

Re: Jetairfly in 2015
Hopefully TUI's customers won't have to do what it means:
Tui = to push (or even to delay) (Chinese)
Funny to see all the planes with "To push" on the fuselage. Of course one would have to know Chinese (and how it's written in normal script) but it's still funny

Re: Jetairfly in 2015
Does anybody know when the 'OO-CAN' goes back to Canada? I thought it only was here for the summer or does it stay for autumn too?

(Probably off-topic, but anyway) not only old people. DR Congo especially.Bralo20 wrote: Not only old(er) people, I know quite a few of young(er) people who are calling Brussels Sabena and those were (as a figure of speach) in their diapers when Sabena went bankrupt.
I remember being in Kinshasa, and the word in Lingala for 'airplane' was 'Sabena'. (Logical, as the first airplanes they ever saw had big 'Sabena'-titles all over them).
Locals would see an Air France approaching FIH and say 'Voila, un Sabena d'Air France'
Of course the AF personnel didn't like this very much...

Re: Jetairfly in 2015
I think they're keeping it until the end of October when the lease expires.Predixs wrote:Does anybody know when the 'OO-CAN' goes back to Canada? I thought it only was here for the summer or does it stay for autumn too?
Since Canjet is bankrupt (or stopped their activities) I guess the plane will go straight to the lessor (CIT).
Re: Jetairfly in 2015
Ok thanks Bralo20, but they said they wanted to expand their fleet can't they just buy the plane from the lessor? Or is it not that easy to do?Bralo20 wrote:I think they're keeping it until the end of October when the lease expires.Predixs wrote:Does anybody know when the 'OO-CAN' goes back to Canada?
