Nope. A new terminal like the current one, with check-in facilities etc...

No, no, not to double the capacity of the airport but to bring all check-in facilities of Star under one roof. Terminal 2, T2, will come on the place where you have now the huge and totally empty DHL Building 2. This is the one next to the Diamant.

The current terminal 1, T1, is now really crowded when you walk each day in the departure hall. You hardly can move. T1 will be foreseen for all airlines except Star and Leisure carriers.

The users of the Leisure terminal are very happy with the very light, spacious, wide terminal. In the future it can be extended with two or three more extra check-in lanes. That's already foreseen.

The terminals: T1, T2 and the Leisure terminal will have an L-shape then when you will see it from above.

If the plan/idea will be realised then it will be very close.

Then would'n it be a better idea to built a kind of terminal going from the curent hall of departure to Abelag the the check in facilities land side and the gate airside. It would be a better use of the space to me, and less walking distance for the star alliance passenger.

Where are they going to put those extra lanes? I don't see how they can extend the building, as the new Deloitte building is in the way.

Not really. If I'm not mistaken, the plan is for B pier passengers to go through security and passport control using the Connector entrance and screening platform once the connector is completely finished. In that case, the walk won't be longer for T2 passengers than for T1 passengers, and shorter than the walk for Leisure terminal passengers.

No, not at all because that's the reason why the security check is now right in the middle and together for pier A and B.
Terminal 2 will connect with the new security check area.

The Deloitte building has nothing to do with it. Behind the last lanes is the space already foreseen for extra new lanes

Nobody is talking about the lost of space on the apron side. Not at all. The space in and around the DHL Building 2 is really huge, the building itself is really huge and the biggest. That building is more then big enought for check-in, stores, restaurants, etc.
It is even possible to have gates on that Terminal 2 but that has or can be decided later.

Not that long at all... Keep in mind that security and border control will move from their current locations to the Connector.

Besides, their probably will be no Star Alliance flights at pier B anymore, once APW is finished. The entire A-pier will house all Star Alliance flights...

I'm not following. There are currently three lanes in the leisure terminal. The last of those (lane 14 if I'm not mistaken) is already close to the end of the building. No way you can fit more lanes in behind that one. Or are you talking about expansion in the direction of the skyhall?

Put it this way: if I enter the leisure terminal from the street, where will these new lanes be: to my right, my left, or in front of me, way in the back?

It's already foreseen and prepared in a part of that building that you cannot see as a passenger. So it is more in the direction of the Skyhall.
