Thanks for the info guys. SK590 22MAY15 did indeed operate as planned, with just a minor delay.

Best regards,
Ivan

According to most press reports, it will only be a protest march in Brussels (the usual walkabout Gare du Nord -> Midi / Noord naar Zuid). However, a general strike warning has also been declared because the unions need to cover the protesters joining their protest walk in Brussels. With that official strike warning (stakingsaanzegging) the unions can offer the protesters the strike compensation (? 35 € nett?), a free railway ticket to Brussels and Jupiler à volonté.

Because the Belgian railways are not on strike that day (the unions need them), I don't think that there will be a lot of strikes that day.

Spanish air traffic controllers are set to commence partial strikes, disrupting flights on four days this week.

The strikes, scheduled for June 8, 10, 12 and 14, will be staged for two hours each morning (10am-12pm) and two hours each afternoon (6pm-8pm).

Talks aimed at averting the strikes have been unsuccessful, and they are expected to go ahead tomorrow (Monday, June 8).

Lufthansa cabin crew union UFO raises prospect of strikes over pensions and pay.

Mediation talks had been due to end on Monday but were extended to Friday to give the two sides more time to try and reach a compromise.

The airline has already been hit by a series of costly strikes by its pilots, who are now preparing to enter mediation talks.

The UFO flight attendants' union said at a press conference on Monday that if an accord was not reached with Lufthansa by June 30, its members would strike the following day with a schedule of more strike days to be announced thereafter that could last to Sept. 16.

Strike threat for 29th June 2015 : the airport inspectors at Brussels Airport

In 2004, the airport inspectors (200 nowadays) were transferred from the federal Police to Brussels Airport Company. They now demand from minister Galant a clear instruction about their rights & tasks.

Direct reason: in mid January (?!), they were not allowed to certain restricted areas by the Federal Police.

It would be most unusual for the summer holidays to begin without a strike of some kind.

And with the Belgian "social elections" (new union delegates) upcoming in May 2016, it doesn' look good for airlines and passengers.

In France :

French ATC possibly on strike : from 2 July to 4 July early morning.

In fact, French industrial action for tomorrow/Wednesday has been cancelled, but is still in force for Thursday/Friday.
