Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
The SN3628/9 flight will be operated by Europe Airpost. Equipment will change to B737.
In september 2015 it will go back to two daily flights. One operated by SN and one by 5O.

Ok that also makes sense as they are Paris-based so no positioning flights after all. But why did they load them as SN A319 flights now, a technical thing or still to finalise some things with Europe Airpost?airbuske wrote:The SN3628/9 flight will be operated by Europe Airpost. Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
But why those change if it's finally to keep the capacity on that route?

SABENA used to have a convenient timetable between CDG & BRU. They also tried ORY.
By that time and if I do remember, there were 5 flights/day between the 2 cities, allowing smooth transfer @ BRU even on another european flight (I did CDG/BRU/FRA several times).

Sabena used to fly also to Le Bourget - I remember doing a BRU-LBG in a 707 (OO-SJL), that was back in 1973 ...
IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING.

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
Would be cool to see them operate an afternoon flight!
Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
But in the absence on any African flights, who'd be taking such a flight?
Going from Paris to Brussels is far more convenient by train -provided they aren't on strike- and if it's only for European connection flights, I fear the nonstop offer from Paris on Air France and increasingly also Easyjet is making demand for such an afternoon flight very small?
Do they offer something special from BRU not widely available from Paris in the afternoon, already? I doubt it!
Rather than grow the number of flights on this route, I'd suppose them to be eager to close it in the long run (and replace it by alternative ways of feeding) as I can only see it as an expensive way to feed their African flights. Too bad BRU is so poorly connected with the international railway network compared to other airports: it's another handicap added to all the rest in its future quest to become a major hub.

Re: 3rd daily SN flight to CDG
On the other hand, Taking the train, checking in twice.. dragging the luggage.. and the extra time that takes is no real competition to the direct flights AF offers to Africa from Paris, unless SN undercuts the price to an extent operations become unprofitable.. I think they need to keep their runs to CDG, a more expensive option but more comfortable, and am sure at a premium price PAX are willing to pay..
Re: Third daily SN flight to CDG
Oh I fully agree with you b720, but due to the cost aspect, I think the flight is an alternative which probably only makes sense for people connecting to Africa, not on European flights, which is why they don't offer flights from Paris once all those have left BRU?
And I am sure they would love to be able to halt all their Paris flights even and replace them by for instance trains, but of course it needs to be (made) possible first: if you compare the way in which for instance the main airports of Paris or Amsterdam are connected to the international railway system with the way in which BRU is only connected to it, you can't but shake your head in total disbelief, can you?

Re: Third daily SN flight to CDG
Indeed: the only Thalys that stopped at BRU has been cancelled (again!). The only international connections are to The Netherlands, and they are rather slow. It would be nice to have again international trains, preferably HST, to The Netherlands, Paris, Lille, Aachen and Cologne. But getting them will require very good negotiation skills, which I think are lacking at the SNCB/NMBS.

Do Europa Airport operate Airbus now?
Re: Third daily SN flight to CDG
Europe Airpost do you mean?
For passenger aircraft, they only operate the Boeing 737-700 (149 seat)

Re: Third daily SN flight to CDG
they also have a few 737-300 Combi left in their fleet which are also still used for pax flights.

Re: Third daily SN flight to CDG
On its website SN indicates that the flight ex CDG at 6:50 am is operated by Brussels Airlines / Equipment : 733.
(deliberate) misinformation ? incompetence of some SN employees ? communication error between Operations Department (?) and IT Department ?
Again amateuristic...

Re: Third daily SN flight to CDG
This is actually the case White Light, the flight is operated with a 737, sometimes 300 sometimes 700, so what do you want them to put, that the flight is operated with a A380?

... and what has the IT-department to do with it? IT is about running servers and services and applications - NOT about the content.

NO, that the flight is operated by Europe Airport (not by Brussels Airlines, as the indicate). Simple, no ?crew1990 wrote:what do you want them to put, that the flight is operated with a A380?
And who puts the content on the web site, if not the IT people on the basis of the information forwarded to them ?jan_olieslagers wrote:what has the IT-department to do with it? IT is about running servers and services and applications - NOT about the content.

AirpoSt, Europe Airpost, not Airport. Simple, no?White Light wrote: NO, that the flight is operated by Europe Airport (not by Brussels Airlines, as the indicate). Simple, no ?
If you don't know the who, why, what, don't start blaming people. Obviously you are not fail-safe either.

No, but here at least someone is proof-reading (my) posts (you). At Brussels Airlines this does not seem to be the case. They are to be professionnals, I'm not.RoMax wrote:AirpoSt, Europe Airpost, not Airport.
