Le juge antiterroriste Jean-Louis Bruguière a bouclé l'instruction sur le crash de l'avion du président Habyarimana, le 6 avril 1994. L'équipage du Falcon 50, qui a péri dans cet attentat, etait français. L'événement déclencheur, le 6 avril 1994, du génocide dont furent victimes plus d'un demi-million de Tutsis au "pays des mille collines.

Generaal Paul Kagamé werd toen al aangegeven als de aanstichter van de aanslag. Er waren zelfs al geruchten dat de schouderwapens van russische makelij geleverd werden vanuit Oeganda.
Hoe ik dat weet? Omdat ik ter plaatse was en omdat dat toen reeds werd gefluisterd.
Vanuit de bovenste verdieping van het Sabena hotel, was het duidelijk dat een grote massa volk in beweging kwam: van de ene colline naar de andere, was ik getuige van een grote stofwolk, een stofwolk die men kan zien achter een immense kudde buffels of gnoes* wanneer die trekken. Dat was mijn eerste gedacht, omdat ik dat al eerder meerdere malen gezien had in Oost Afrika. Ditmaal was het een mensenmassa die op de vlucht was voor geweld, waarvan we nu de omvang kennen. Dit geweld begon op 07 April 1994. Ook toeval of georganizeerd toeval, binnen de 24 uur na de aanslag?
Liep de zgn weerwraak op de dood van de president, effekens uit de hand?

Tien jaar later brengt Aristide het er beter af, hij leeft nog weliswaar in Bangui... Verder dan daar kan men vandaag de dag niemand verbannen....
Wel stel ik vast dat het scenario van de gecontrolleerde staatsgreep veel is verbeterd, alhoewel er nog steeds een vliegtuig in het scenario voorkomt. Ditmaal komen de piloten er goed vanaf, dat was 10 jaar geleden niet zo...

Ja de rol van de Fransen in Afrika onder President M, wordt vroeg of laat nog een smeuig verhaal, maar dat is voor een ander, politico-crimineel-forum.
Ik had het alleen over de rol van vliegtuigen in de gecontrolleerde staatsgreepscenarii. (lijkt me vast een interessant onderwerp om dieper te bestuderen )

Vanaf 01October 1990 gaat Kagame een cursus volgen bij de General Staff in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, the United States, in voorbereiding van de invasie. Daarna keerde hij naar Oeganda weer vanwaar de aanval op Rwanda en de omliggende landen vertrok.

En wat doen ze er de laatste jaren: The four mission areas of the Combined Arms Center (CAC) are Leader Development, Army Doctrine, Collective Training, and Battle Command.

CAC has four major subordinate organizations to accomplish the tasks of these mission areas: The Command and General Staff College (CGSC), the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD), the Combined Arms Center - Training (CAC-T), and the Training and Doctrine Command Program Integration Office - Battle Command (TPIO-Battle Command).

Among the tenant units are: the U.S. Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences Leader Development Research Unit, the Headquarters of the 35th Infantry Division (Mechanized), the Headquarters of the TRADOC Analysis Center, the U.S. Army Force Management Support Agency, the Force Design Division, the Army National Guard Battle Command Training Center, the Army/ACE Registry Transcript Systems, and the Army Reserve's 2-383rd Training Support Battalion.
