However it remains a big disadvantage that FR doesn't offer alternatives on other carriers.sean1982 wrote:

That's partly why you pay 25€ iso 250€
Re: Ryanair in 2015
You can question if this idea of you get what you pay for is still appropriate for their 'primary airport' operations which are quite a bit more expensive from what FR used to be (also in the view of the 'New Ryanair' idea). Passengers that buy for example a 60 euro ticket on FR for e.g. BRU-BCN could see their travel plans running through the drain due to a situation like today (ATC strike in combination with very full flights during the Easter holiday), while you could have booked a ticket on SN for let's say 80 Euro if booked at the right moment and you get to BCN and back with let's say max. 1 day delay. I'm not sure about Vueling, but given the fact they even offer connections through BCN and FCO and codeshares with IB, BA, AA and QR I assume they also rebook on other carriers in situations like this.sean1982 wrote:That's partly why you pay 25€ iso 250€
Re: Ryanair in 2015
Strange, cause when my SN flight was cancelled in GVA I wasnt rerouted through other carriers either ... Even though they were available
Re: Ryanair in 2015
I'm not saying that's always the case, but they don't let you wait for days until there is an alternative on one of their own flights. You are really good in turning someone's words around...sean1982 wrote:Strange, cause when my SN flight was cancelled in GVA I wasnt rerouted through other carriers either ... Re: Ryanair in 2015
Stranded passengers are not interested in the load factor and/or annual growth. All they want when they're stranded, is that their carrier respects the law - in this case the European legislation as set out in EU-Rule 261/2004. And that legislation is very clear: "...In case of cancellation of a flight, the passengers concerned shall be offered assistance by the operating air carrier in accordance with Article 8..."airazurxtror wrote:Impressed or not impressed by the new Ryanair way, Ryanair statistics for March are a fact :Passenger wrote: In the 13h tv news, VTM interviewed two Ryanair passengers, both not impressed by the above "Le Nouveau Ryanair Est Arrivé" that mr Jacobs and mr O'Leary have announced.
- Traffic grew by 28% to 6.67m customers.
- Load factor increased 10% points to 90%.
- Rolling annual traffic to March grew 11% to 90.5m customers. -
Article 8 gives the passengers the right to reimbursement or re-routing.
"Shall be offered assistance" doesn't mean somebody from the airport telling them they have to go to the website or contact the head office in Dublin, who will then refund them. "Shall be offered assistance" means a real person at a real desk with a real online resa computer, asking the stranded passenger what he/she wants: rerouting or refund. And if the passenger asks for a rerouting, that airline staff has to look for it at that very moment at the airport.
It's easy to be the cheapest if you don't respect the law, whilst others do. And just like yesterday, also today's press reports proof that Le Nouveau Ryanair hasn't arrived yet. I quote from tonights' report on Het Laatste Nieuws: "Specially with Ryanair, passengers complain that they get almost zero information".

Just what you get with Ryanair - and I speak from personal experience - not like you, and the like of you loke Inquirer, for instance - who have never set foot on a Ryanair flight.Passenger wrote: "Shall be offered assistance" means a real person at a real desk with a real online resa computer, asking the stranded passenger what he/she wants: rerouting or refund. Allow me to add that if you believe all that is said by HLN or VTM, you are particularly gillible.
You were less sharply invoking the rules à propos the recent Miami fiasco of your beloved Jetairfly :
According to the passengers speaking on RTL-TVI : no hotel room provided, night spent in the terminal, no information from Jetairfly; they hope to depart at 11 am local time.
The Jetairfly spokeswoman : Jetairfly regrets not to have provided the (alleged) usual help to the (200)passengers and promises them an indemnisation.

Re: Ryanair in 2015
The Irish Aviation Authority has withdrawn taxiways A and B2 at Dublin Airport from service following a collision between two Ryanair planes at the airport last Wednesday.
The incident happened at the same location as a similar event on 7 October 2014.
In its interim report, the AAIU noted that it had recommended that the IAA restate the taxiing restrictions.
In response, the IAA said that it had implemented the recommendation, as well as "some additional significant safety enhancements by withdrawing Taxiways A and B2 from service".

A and B2? Well that's weird, how are they going to join B3 and E2 then? Or everything via H2?

Re: Ryanair in 2015
Sentimentality about Aer Lingus as a national brand is “largely rubbish”, according to Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary.
Mr O’Leary dismissed concerns that a takeover of the airline by its suitor International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) would be akin to “selling the family jewels”.
“The days of whether we [the State] should sell Aer Lingus or not sell Aer Lingus ended in 2007 when we sold 75 per cent of Aer Lingus. This idea that we should hold onto the remaining 25 per cent because Aer Lingus is some kind of national brand or jewel is frankly long outdated. Ryanair is Ireland’s biggest airline,” he said.
The suggestion that Ireland would “somehow be cut off” were the Government to sell the State’s stake is “frankly for the birds”, he added.
Ryanair is yet to receive an offer for its 29 per cent stake in Aer Lingus, but “if we do receive an offer, it will be considered on its merits”, he said.

In its latest advertisement, Aer Lingus (which uses Terminal 2 in Dublin) is aiming at its (unnamed) main shareholder and nevertheless rival (which departs from Terminal 1):
Fly from T2 at Dublin Airport to central locations across Europe. T1 gets you nearly there, we get you really there.

U NEVR BEAT D IRISH !

Aer Lingus swan song ...
The swan song (in ancient Greek: κύκνειον ᾆσμα) is a metaphorical phrase for a final gesture, effort, or performance given just before death or retirement.

Re: Ryanair in 2015
Last Friday, two female passengers (apparently off duty Ryanair crew members not in uniform) were in the cockpit during take off and landing of a flight from Dublin to Schoenefeld Berlin.
A passenger reported this to The Independent: “With things being so strict since the Alps crash, I don’t think this should be allowed", the passenger said.
The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is currently investigating the incident in question. For Ryanair, it’s already case closed. "The airline refused to comment on its policy for passengers, including off-duty staff, being in the cockpit”, The Independent reports.

Re: Ryanair in 2015
Ryanair says it will halt flights to and from Tampere at the end of October. The seven routes are to re-open around April 1, 2016. In the meantime, Lappeenranta will be Ryanair’s only Finnish destination.
Ryanair plans to shift some of the planes now serving its Finnish destinations to its new Copenhagen and Berlin routes.
“Unfortunately we have a plane shortage, which won’t be resolved until 2016,” says Elina Hakkarainen, Ryanair’s sales and marketing director for the Nordic region.
Next year, Ryanair plans to take delivery of 40 new planes, some of which will begin plying Nordic routes.

Also remind you what will happen if Ryanair has less competitors.... Guess it will be difficult for you to find the low prices you claim to find every time.
Less competitors means higher prices. Unless you still believe in fairy tales!
