Another brilliant sight - I checked the Belgian football league positions today. Brugge are in second place behind Anderlecht, whilst Standard Liege are down to third place. Wonderful!  :jumpy:  :mexwave: :jump2:  :kvole:

Never mind Andre - when Brugge win at the weekend, and Liege lose, Brugge will be in front on points as well

Comet,

Guess what I just read on the official Scarborough FC website:
SHREWSBURY TOWN 4 - 1 BORO(21/02/2004)

Shrewsbury inflicted a heavy defeat on Scarborough in a game where both sides finished with 10 men.

Scarborough's Chris Senior opened the scoring when he nodded home.

Shrews star Duane Darby equalised from the edge of the area before Jake Sedgemore put the home side ahead from a free-kick.

Martin O'Connor and Darby rounded off the scoring in between the dismissals of Luke Rodgers and Scott Kerr for two bookable offences.

Shrewsbury: Howie, Moss, Tinson, Ridler, Sedgemore, Lowe, Jamie Tolley, O'Connor, Aiston, Darby, Rodgers.
Subs: Cramb, Banim, Edwards, Street, Hart.

Scarborough: Walker, Price, Downey, Hotte, Robinson, Gill, Kerr, Kelly, Whitman, Senior, Quayle.
Subs: Lyth, Sollitt, Sherlock, O'Neill, Bachelor.

Referee: P Canadine (Rotherham).

Attendance: 3,333

I woud call that EXCELLENT news. And here is even better:

MORECAMBE - SCARBOROUGH 2 - 1

Morecambe recovered from their Gravesend horror show by recording a dramatic 2-1 victory over Scarborough at Christie Park.

:mexwave: :mexwave:

I never enjoyed such a goooooooood weekend

Let's put it down to injury problems with Scarborough  But for a small, non-league team they did quite well in the FA Cup, they lost 1-0 eventually to Chelsea in Scarborough, but the Premiership side didn't thrash them like everyone expected them to

Vonsmalhausen - I check the Belgian football results every week without fail, and I love Brugge to win, and I just love Liege to lose

Nice to see Mechelen win, if they go back up I'll have another team to laugh at

Though nothing beats laughing at the Liege team when they lose or go down in the league positions!

What sort of a result is that when you want to see Liege losing :?:

We must wait until tonight to see the result of Brugge. Let's hope they win

I don't understand you Louise !! I agree that you support a team, but why wishing that other teams constantly loose

Chris - are you familiar with the concept of the wind up? It means doing or saying something because you know it will cause a reaction from someone else. If, for example, you know that someone follows a certain football team, whenever that team loses you "wind them up" about it, it's the done thing over here in England among people who support different teams (without the gross hostility that breeds hooliganism in sport).

Didn't you know that there is someone on Luchtzak who claims to follow Standard Liege :?:

Hi all,

today 20/03/2004 KV Mechelen beat Bornem 6-3 !! I was a visitor of that incredible game! Here's the scoreline:

0-1 (7th min)
1-1 (10th min)
2-1 and 3-1 first half

then

4-1 4-2 5-2 5-3 and 6-3 (excellent 20m free-kick)

So I saw 9 goals for the price of 8 €!!

How did your weekend turned out? Saw that Standard Liège only drawed 1-1? Problems with the referee again ? ;-)

greetz,

Bart

:D I don't think so... They are just BAD... :!:
Standard is too 'bad' to play European, in compare with Bruges or Anderlecht
