I don't think so. The other A319 in the Aegean fleet (SX-DGF, sn 2468) has IAE engines, whereas all SN A32F aircraft have CFM engines.theeuropean wrote:I will assume maybe the second A319 might also be from Aegean, I do not see them holding onto 1 in their fleet, especially as the new 7 A320's will begin to arrive, but that is just a hunch.

Belgium's biggest airline,
one of Europe's fastest growing ones,
has room for some livery diversity on its ever-larger Airbus fleet.

Another Star Alliance livery? I think it would be preferable to have it on an A330...tolipanebas wrote:Belgium's biggest airline,

Another Red Devils livery? No but no thanks, we've got enough of them already...
A Tomorrowland livery again, like every year? ...
I give up!

Now, wouldn't that be cool to have when parked at gate A40?Stij wrote:Manneken Pis?

I'd have gone for the tomorrow land colours too, but it clearly is not correct.sn26567 wrote:Another Star Alliance livery? I think it would be preferable to have it on an A330...tolipanebas wrote:Belgium's biggest airline,

Euh, how about a hybrid Brussels Airlines / Thomas Cook painting, to underscore their recently announced strategic partnership?
If not, then I have no idea, other than a promotional livery to highlight they are indeed back on their feet and growing like never before???
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The "Belgian Red Devils" liveries are not painted but stickered, same for "TomorrowLand" (which is also too early in the year).
I guess it will be a livery promoting tourism in Brussels...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
We should start a poll on this
A sort of "Sabena" retro-livery? I know, Brussels Airlines is not a 100% child of Sabena, but I am just thinking out of the box

I heard about a Tintin livery a some times ago...
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Given SN's ambition to be a truly Belgian airline, an ambassador for everything that's Belgian and the integration of the Tintin theme in a part of their new lounge, it wouldn't be unlogical.crew1990 wrote:I heard about a Tintin livery a some times ago...
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Just a question, last summer the fleet consisted in 8 A330, 22 A310/A320, 13 Avro and 4 wet leased aircraft, so a total of 47 aircraft, this summer we get 3 new A319 and 1 A320 but the the last RJ85 and the OO-SSP are gone, and there will be only 3 wet leased aircraft, that make a total of 48 aircraft so just 1 more than last summer.
How will SN operate all those new summer destination, extra thomas cook flight, extra frequencies (Tel Aviv, etc...) with only one aircraft more, can we expect one or two more aircraft coming?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Some news about the strong rumour of a 9th A330 is coming to Brussels Airlines?
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I heard this rumor as well, but SN is looking how the booking of IAD are doing before to take the decision to take it... in the mean time, many euro crew will be transferred to the long haul sector and SN is once again recruiting new crew, so I think there is something going on in the pipeline...
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The thing is of course, if they are relaunching IAD this summer and they want to keep the capacity they added in Africa this winter, they need an additional aircraft or they need to downgrade some African routes again.
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The Thomas Cook flights and the summer destinations are, ... well, ... summer destinations! They are thus operated with aircraft retired from other (business) destinations due to lower traffic during the summer months. Furthermore, smaller aircraft are replaced by larger aircraft, thus increasing the number of available seats.crew1990 wrote:How will SN operate all those new summer destination, extra thomas cook flight, extra frequencies (Tel Aviv, etc...) with only one aircraft more, can we expect one or two more aircraft coming?
Altogether, it means a more rational use of the fleet.
