We clearly see that LGG stoped its growth in the last few years. Belly cargo is gaining interest, the global fleet of 777 is changing the game.
Very interesting read:

LGG that is dedicated to full frighters has now a real challenge and we get this communication

Hi Acid-drop,
Two very interesting articles!
If belly cargo gains importance, airlines could be tempted to fly their full cargo planes to passenger airports instead of cargo airports because of hubs and connections. Worrying for full cargo airports.
But LGG has a better chance because of TNT: they can't move so easily to passenger airports as they are closer to city centers and don't tolerate night flights that easy. TNT is a hub and offers connections.
Interesting to see this develop!
Cheers,
Stij

well the example of Qatar is quite interesting.
They'll use BRU for many belly cargo flights, makes sense.
And yet they keep LGG for full cargo and flexible time, makes sense too.
The real question is now ... will they both find interest in developping the high speed train link (carex) between the 2... i'm not yet convinced

But QR Cargo is moving from LGG to BRU, or is that only part of their full cargo operation to LGG?
Re: 2014 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news
There are still 3 flights (instead of 7) per week with full freighter from LGG.

Wouldn't the distance between the 2 be to short for the train? BY the time you've loaded a complete train, the truck is already at the other airport...Acid-drop wrote:The real question is now ... will they both find interest in developping the high speed train link (carex) between the 2... i'm not yet convinced

The government of the Walloon Region will reduce by 15% the subsidies for fire safety and security to Liège Airport, which means that the airport will get 2.4 million euros less in 2015.
Aéroports de Paris (ADP), owner of 25% of the shares of the airport, could leave Liège as a result of the cut in subsidies.
The same cuts of 15% in security and safety subsidies (allowed by the European Union) also applies to Charleroi Airport.

Top show jumping horses fly Qatar Airways to Doha
A total of 67 world-class showjumping horses flew Qatar Airways from Liege, Belgium to Doha, Qatar today and yesterday ahead of the final nail-biting round of the 2014 Longines Global Champions Tour season (13-15 November).
The horses fly in special 'air stables' and receive a 'business class' experience to ensure they remain comfortable and happy throughout their journey to one of the biggest events in the equestrian calender. The final Grand Prix of this year's series takes place at AL SHAQAB, one of the most spectacular equestrian venues in the world, providing a fabulous international stage for the crowning of the overall Longines Global Champions Tour Champion.

For this, the dramatic conclusion to a roller-coaster ride of a season, the stars of the sport are all out in force for the final showdown, but it's now a three-horse race to the Championship title between World No1 Scott Brash (GBR), four-time Olympic Gold medallist and World No2 Ludger Beerbaum (GER), and two-time Olympic Silver medallist Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE).
The CSI5* Doha finale offers some of the biggest prize money in the sport, and this year over €1.7million is on the table, including the record €1million end of season bonus of which the lion's share goes to the 2014 Championship winner.
Grand Prix highlights will be broadcast on Eurosport on Saturday 15th November, with live coverage shown from Saturday 3.15pm CET on beIN Sports, Horse&Country TV, GCT TV, Equidia Life and ClassHorseTV.
