Mijn meest recente tweet betreft slechts één woord: "verschrikkelijk". Wie let op het tijdstip zal begrijpen dat die alles te maken had met de tragedie rond MH17. Ik heb de gewoonte om doorgaans meer woorden te gebruiken dan nodig, maar voor de ellende die we elkaar blijven aandoen met oorlog schoten woorden te kort. Oekraïne wordt behandeld als de andere kant van de wereld, maar Kiev ligt even dicht bij Brussel als Malaga. Verschrikkelijk.

Ik schreef hier tijdens het voorbij uur uitgebreid een stukje over mijn ervaring van de 25 jaar in de luchtvaart, maar bij het "submit" bleek ik uitgelogd te zijn en is het hele verhaal kwijtgeraakt. Omdat ik straks andere afspraken heb is er nu niet de tijd om dat te hermaken. Zeer frustrerend.

André, this has nothing to do with time. A spokesperson knows often far more about the discussed topics than he is allowed to share on a forum like this. Participating here would therefore be untimely, unwise and often even illegal (law on trade secrets). Do not confuse this with a lack of interest or respect for Luchtzak. You have no idea how many airport professionals follow these pages, and how many journalists. Through the years, I have been called hundreds of times by journalists who wanted confirmation or further details on topics they discovered here. Nadat ik hem jaren op tv had gezien heb ik Jan uiteindelijk ontmoet na het winnen van een twitter wedstrijd met als prijs een behind the scenes tour.. en een broodje dicht bij de apron.

Een heel amicabele en vriendelijke man die zijn job passioneel en goed uitvoerde. Ook met het andere personeel leek hij een schitterende relatie te onderhouden.

Wat ook de reden moge zijn voor zijn vertrek... professioneel gezien verliest de luchthaven een heel waardevolle medewerker.
