Just a question What's the reason Brussels airlines did a 'technical stop' in Dakar when flying from Brussels to Brazil with the A330 and Jetairfly flies non-stop with the B767 to Brazil? I can imagine both aircraft are capable to fly direct, or is it not that simple?
Thanks

Hello
This question is already answered a few times but not in this topic.
But here is your answer:
The Stop in DKR is for crew change and the stop also has something to do with payload restrictions on the A330-300.The A330-200 has got less restrictions concerning payload. The French and Russian team flew direct with an A330-200 from their home countries.

An idea if a new A333 could do it? The Spanish team flew from to Brazil with an A333 of Iberia, but I don't know if they did it non-stop and how much shorter their routing was compared to that of BRU-GRU?

But with a -200, there wouldn't be enough business class seats for all the players (only 22C seats in a -200)

King Philip and Queen Mathilde have left this morning to Rio de Janeiro on board of the new A321 of the Belgian Air Force, together with 40 other persons (Ministers Reynders and De Crem, Belgian Football Federation, Belgian Enterprises Federation, journalists). They will make two intermediate stops.
