I would like to give a comment on the several posts about the flight to IAD operated by SN.JustPlanes wrote:Washington is a waste as United operates a daily flight already while Boston has no service to Brussels and there is such a market here!!!
Do you realize that in summer Icelandair operates 3 Boeing 757s a day out of Boston!
Emirates just started with a daily 777 and its already almost full…
Turkish is starting 5x a week A330s in a couple of weeks…
It would be far more interested to have a nonstop to Brussels from Logan than having 2 from Dulles...
First of all I don't know if the members who are giving bad comments were really taken also this flight. If so, then they are not honest and only set SN in a bad daylight.
I took in meantime this flight already many times.
First of all, for business people it's a good choice to take SN. They can still work more then half a day at the office before coming to the airport. At IAD for the return flight, they have a full day there.
The flight to IAD is Always stopped at 120 pax as cargo to IAD is much more important. At my last flight, we were only with 80 pax on board but we needed to call the fuel truck again because we were too heavy loaded with cargo.
Of course, the slots could be better as United is taking the transit pax of SN at BRU. SN has less transit pax on board, only those ones of the arriving noon flights out of Africa.
But with the flight coming from IAD it's the opposite. The flight is Always overbooked. Even the crew seats, at the back of the aircraft, are Always taken. On this leg, there is less cargo on board.
So in general speaking, yes, this IAD flight is doing very well and this in the mix of pax and cargo.
