I believe TRN is the longest flight they operate with the Q400. Doesn't mean it is the perfect fit for every route of about the same distance.Flanker2 wrote:Hum did you notice that Q400? 2 hours long trip? That must have been the end of the world for these girls who are not the typical low-budget travellers. Yet it doesn't seem to have bothered them.
Do you expect that much more on such a short flight after already spending time in the lounge? And I believe (though really not sure) Club Med pax get a different service, though I'm not sure if this applies to all flights. I believe they also get extra FF miles.Flanker2 wrote: Plus, I don't see the point of B.flex, you get a small amount of food and a drink.
Even the most expensive hotels in Italy offer these kind of dishes, at least if they have lots of international guests. Why? Simply because international visitors expect this from an Italian hotel. You might have noticed that his is about non-Italian people going on holiday overthere, not about Italians going on an expensive trip in their own country.Flanker2 wrote: Also, despite being an expensive package, Italians on an expensive holiday would be insulted to be served a pizza buffet for dinner or crepes as merenda.
Pizza is considered the working man's dish, not something you would eat in a classy hotel restaurant, and even so it's eaten hot from the oven, not presented on a buffet, baked god knows how many hours before. The only place that is acceptable is at your local Pizza Hut![]()
Tomato mozzarella.... probably any Italian's last choice of antipasto... a poor choice.
The holiday Inn at BRU serves better breakfast than the one shown.
You are probably correct, but do you think anyone cares at Club Med or SN as long as people are prepared to spend this money on this overpriced holiday? These are usually the kind of people that don't want to take care of all the organisation of taking care about a ticket, transfer to the airport, transfers at the destination, hotel reservation, etc. It's correct that more and more people put their own holiday together, but that's exactly why Club Med is moving itself upwards in the market, where there are still lots of people that don't care about the money they spend, as long as they don't have to take care about anything and can have a great holiday in a great hotel, even though that hotel might kill Italian gastronomy like its known by the Italians itself (to come back to this example).Flanker2 wrote: I think that this trip is way overpriced for what it offers and there is little class about it aside from the Club Med marketing that these girls were sold. If you book the hotel directly and fly there with Ryanair, you'd be spending the same holiday at less than half the price...more and more people are putting their own ski packages together.
I wouldn't be someone booking a holiday like this with Club Med, but there are lots of people that do want to this. You can say it's overpriced and far from actually luxurious as they try to market it, but you can't ignore the Club Med - SN partnership is a commercial success for SN (note I'm not saying financial success, that's impossible to conclude from what we know as outsiders). SN transports about 50 000 passengers for Club Med and the new Fly & Ski offer performs above expectations because more and more people book this kind of holidays again.
