ANA aviation -Allied air ,the biggest cargo-operator operating from OST ,moves its activities to LGG.
One of the reasons would be the lower fuel price at LGG (-25%) .

See also below link to the OST website which publishes iself(!) in full an article in a local newspapaer (in dutch) which also reveals some controversy between the current airport director and the future private operator Egis, especially as with regard to a new 10 year (!) fuelcontract for the Ostend airport.
Cargo traffic figures will be impacted even more now.
Also future of Aviapartner's operations at OST may be in doubt..
It remains to be seen how Egis can turn the tide when they take over in June(?)...

As already announced in other threads besides starting to serve ANR ,JAF will also increase their activity at OST by about 30% in 2015.
This is a result of the introduction of Barcelona as 14th destination and an increase in frequency on 4 other destinations.
Summary:
OST-Barcelona: 3 X week (wed,Fri,Sun) (Flights with E-190)
OST-Alicante : 4 X week (now 3 flts)
OST-Malaga: 3 X week (now 2 )
OST-Palma :3 X week (now 2 )
OST-Tenerife : 3 X week (now 2)
OST-Rhodos : 2 X week (now 1)

Hopefully the BCN route will attract also a lot of spanish customers + business pax and frequency can even be increased.
Let's wait and see. (or book at still favourable rates...returns at less than 75 EUR are now still possible,it seems)
Grtz
