Hello friends !

I have a scoop for you !

I booked a flight to Air Transat for a flight to Montreal Mirabel YMX. I should take off from BRU the 1/08/2003 at around 12.00 local time with an A330-200 ( to be confirmed ) and I'll fly back on the 24/08/2003 with a L1011 ( also has to be confirmed ) , arrival at 12.00 +/- ...

Please take pics for me !!!!

I'd rather be inside but I won'tmiss the tristar for anything.

This means that we'll be able to see Air Transat's Tristar three time this year 8) on 18/06/2003, 24/08/2003 and 10/09/2003.

Hi Avro,

you will have a lot of opportunities to see the Air Transat L1011-500 as it will visit Brussels each Monday during July and August as flight 188-189
On Wednesdays we will see their A310-300 and on Fridays the A330-300.

Chris,

If you like the Tristar so much, don't forget the weekly Hewa Bora from and to Kinshasa (ALX 100/101, arr. Sat 19:45, dep. Sun 11:00). After 26 June there will be a second frequency (ALX 102/103, arr. Wed 19:45, dep. Thu 12:00).

I find this strange on the planning-side of the story: cabin crews can be qualified for 3 types of aircraft but cockpit-crew can only fly 1. Since the 2 airbus are allready different (fly-by-wire and stick-between-the-legs) and the Tristar is different as well it seems that the crews are staying for a whole week in Brussels ! It can be possible that they have to take a bus to Paris CDG or Amsterdam to fly back with their type of aircraft...

I can understand that they want to come to Brussels with 2 different planes but with 3 ! Strange...

The OAG confirms what OO-VEX said (the BIAC website does not mention the Tristar and is wrong): three flights a week with three different planes.

Is it possible that the incoming flight carries the crew for the outgoing flight, taking a nap? And the outgoing flight takes home the incoming crew... I have already seen this on some airlines.

Today, one of my dreams came true. After an interview for a summer job with BGS, we drove back home via the Haachtsesteenweg, and who stood there on the military apron?

Jup, right, thé An-124 (UR-82029) First time I saw such a biggie  It's cargodoor was open at that moment. It was so mighty... *sigh*

Did you guys react a bit the same when you saw it for the first time? Sounds a bot childish, but I was really excited

Glider,

don't feel childish, I'm 25 years old. 7 years in aviation industry but I was standing with my mouth open when I saw the Boeing 777 as well as the Airbus 340-600 passing before my nose :o :o :o

I will do the same when I see the Airbus 380 in a few years

ciao,

What kind of airport is Chateauroux? Not a lot of civilian traffic there :(

André,

In Chateauroux is a company located EBS, this company stores aircrafts and brings them back in an airworthy condition.

Speeking about Chateauroux, Sabena_690 is on his way to Chateauroux from Wevelgem International Airport with a small airplane. He will return tomorrow.
