Guess as it will be a Flemish event I don't see any reason why it has to be it bi-lingual..
Just as 'open-monumentendag' or 'open-bedrijvendag',...

But as participating companies on this event are working international and in and around a truely globalised area of the transport industry I can see they will be present bi-or tri- lingular...

But PR in French on a Flemish event in a year of important elections under this stellar moment, nope...

Well of course I don t expect Antwerp Airport or Jetairfly doing it in French of course and I dont blam them for that, as you say its a Flemish event so they do what they want. But in the case of Brussels Airport and Brussels Airlines, wich both represent the national airport and the national airlines, I woulb be surprise if they wouldnt do something in both languages.

I have no big problem with Dutch, but its just I wanted to show to my parents my "world", this is why I was asking

Voor het gemak doe ik het even in het Nederlands (in dit deel van het forum mag het dus dan doe ik het ook maar). Mooi om te zien hoe Vlaanderen zich toch achter dit soort dagen zet, naast de Vlaamse Havendagen die ze al een paar keer hebben georganiseerd. Luchtvaart heeft nog veel te veel een negatief imago en/of mensen weten er te weinig van om te beseffen wat het economisch belang is van luchtvaart, zelfs voor een regio als Vlaanderen waarvan wij wel eens het idee hebben dat we niks meer voorstellen op dat vlak. Deels klopt dat, maar de luchtvaart blijft een grote miljardensector voor Vlaanderen.

Dat Vlaanderen zich met Flanders Logistics (en in dit geval de sectie Flanders Air Transport Network) in het kader van "Vlaanderen in Actie 2020" zich actief achter de logistieke sector schaart is leuk om te zien. En enorm belangrijk, Vlaanderen wil in 2020 de beste regio in Europa zijn op vlak van slimme en duurzame logistiek. Maar daar zijn ze niet alleen in, de concurrentie is niet ver te zoeken (Nederland). En zo'n doelstelling krijg je niet voor elkaar als je de bevolking niet warm maakt voor een sector die eigenlijk heel onbekend is voor de meeste mensen terwijl logistiek komt kijken bij quasi alles en van enorm belang is voor draaischijven als België en Nederland.

Nederland steekt ook enorm veel geld in de logistiek, waaronder stimuleren van logistiek opleidingen. Ik 'profiteer' daar nu zelf ook beetje aan mee en heb de voorbij twee jaar ook genoeg mensen gehoord (op lezingen, conferenties, discussies,...) die duidelijk maken dat de Nederlanders hun ambities op dit vlak niet onder stoelen of banken schuiven. Dus als Belg/Vlaming ben ik toch beetje gerustgesteld dat ook Vlaanderen op dit vlak niet bij de pakken blijft zitten en zichzelf een torenhoge ambitie heeft opgelegd...nu nog alles doen om die te bereiken. Bij logistiek denken mensen vaak alleen aan de transportbedrijven die vooral met de crisis het financieel enorm moeilijk hebben, maar logistiek is zoveel meer dan dat en de sector groeit nog jaar na jaar (ook tijdens de crisis) als je over die grenzen van transportbedrijven heen kijkt.

La page d'inscription pour les visites est bilingue (NL-FR): peut-être que les visites le seront aussi!

De omschrijving pagina is tweetalig (NL-FR)-: misschien zullen de rondleidingen ook tweetalig zijn!

Les visites se feront principalement en néerlandais. Mais la plupart des guides sont bilingues, donc tu peux toujours le demander.

Ik heb het op Facebook gevraagd, en hier is hun antwoord: "de rondleidigen zullen meestal in het Nederlands zijn. Maar de gids zijn meestal tweetalig, zo je kan altijd het [bezoek in het Frans] vragen"

Belgium is so complicated! It is a pity that an event of this importance cannot be organised on a national level rather than on a regional level. Jammer! Dommage!

't Is idd bizar en zeer Belgisch om te zien. Dat bv rondleidingen in Oostende in NL gebeuren en niet per se tweetalig zijn ok, maar waarom geen franstalige en/of engelstalige infobrochure? Vind'k voor zo'n zaken altijd positief en basis, maar soit.

Visitors will be able to visit the aircraft, the cockpit and will also be able to have a look at the technical side of the aircraft. I noticed yesterday when returning from a city trip to Rome that the 3 ex belgian airforce A310s were moved to the far end of the airport (other side of Bru Cargo, sorry don't know how that area is called) to make room for this event.

Let's be positive and be happy that someone at least took the initiative to launch this event! Looking forward to it!
