Jetairfly is not afraid of the arrival of Ryanair in Brussels: "at equal cost customers will always prefer Jetairfly" which includes baggage and meals in the price of the ticket.
Which is first of all untrue because meals are not included and secondly adding a fact that the price is not an "equal cost"
Obviously, it's impossible to make comparisons embracing all flights at all dates, but as an exemple at random :
Brussels-Malaga on 21 may, return on 28 May :
Ryanair : 118,30 euros (and 78,98 euros from Charleroi)
Jetairfly : 404,98 euros
Not what one would call "equal costs" ...

Indeed!
Maybe a seperate thread about the meals would be better because it's off-topic
But Romax was right, meals included unless you book a ticket-only...source: https://www.jetair.be/nl/belangrijke-info point 2.6

and a ticket only is what you book at jetairfly.com ... so meals are NOT included

Nope meal is only included for VIP selection. Jetair and sunjets bookings pay 9EUR per person per sector.
Only on longhaul flights the meal is included.

Based on this and your previous post, did you even read my post?! I clearly stated you pay 9 euro per sector, and apart from that I also mentionned how it's the case with a package deal (free of charge with Jetair and VIP Selection). Besides that my post was in response to flymd11 who asked about long haul, it was not in response to your original statement that meals are not free.

Even Arke includes 1 meal on their longhaul (pay for the 2nd snack service, including for water).
Long haul and Cape Verde Islands is free I believe. The rest can be either buy-on-board or you can order a full meal service (per sector) while booking for 9 euro (I believe) each sector. Though I don't think that's possible on all routes.
When you go on holiday with a package deal, with Jetair you also get the meal service included, VIP Selection has some extras and when booking Sunjets you can make use of the buy-on-board (or possibly decide to add it to your booking already?).
Anyway, I rather want to pay 9 euro per sector while booking, making sure you have a meal and beverage service (in case of ticket-only) than to make use of buy-on-board service (even though that gives a better choice of what you get to eat). I think they offer a rather good combination of buy-on-board and pre-ordered (or free, depending on the type of ticket) catering.

Given the +/- 20% lower fuel burn savings would it be cheaper to operate a B787 which carries more pax or around the same price as leasing/using a B767 which uses more fuel? Or is this aircraft more expensive to operate (leasingcost, more crew, etc..) and could it result in a higher ticketprice for instance?
According to Norwegian the aircraft exceeds expectations on all levels (after the technical kinks were ironed out). Dont know how it would compare to an old B763 though, I would guess that operating cost is still higher for a B788.
Just flew aboard OO-JDL during its inaugural commercial service flight as JAF7567 BRU-AGP. I will try to post a trip report, including some pictures, later on, but I can say I am very much impressed by this aircraft...
Now I'm at Malaga and will fly back to BRU later this afternoon.
Best regards,
Ivan

Hello, I was on the return flight from Malaga (AGP) to Brussels, it was a really nice experience! I went to Malaga on Friday from Ostend airport, also a really nice experience, my first flight from Ostend airport and my first flight with an Embraer E190 (OO-JEB). I added some pictures (apparently in a strange order), I hope you'll like them!
Kind regards,

flying high!
descent into BRU
cockpit view (really crowded, 4 pilots)
nice surprise, a Qatar 787 showed up at BRU next to the jetairfly 787
view from seat 11 (eco+) later moved to 3J (in the nice premium cabin)
Indeed during my/our flights with LOT 787 earlier this year the cockpit was also very busy, pilots were still in training and guided with 787 specialists, there was even an exam! during our flight...
That explains probably the hard landing then
These flights are solely operated for training of crew anyway...
No jumpseats for enthousiasts
They indeed mentioned there was an instructor on board, but no hard landing this time I also remember a lot of fog and clouds on my LOT 787 landing in WAW
sn26567 wrote:
And the crowded cockpit has one reason: the pilots have to learn on short-haul trips before engaging in long-haul routes!
This is absolutely wrong. As an administrator of this forum, please don't invent absolute nonsense about things you absolutely don't know. Do you sincerly think 2 pilots on a jumpseat are in training?
And by the way, a short haul flight is the same as a long haul flight for a pilot...
Observation flights maybe, or a linecheck? As far as I know, that's also training. Or are you claiming someone on a jumpseat never has to do anything with training?

Companies prefer short flights for training because it accelerates the training and pilots can be "released" from flying with instructors a lot quicker in time. Spending 7 hours in cruise for line training is a waste of time, especially if you have 13 other pilots waiting to do the same thing when a new aircraft is introduced.
People on jumpseats can be anyone. For first flights of pilots it is usually a safety pilot because with the current simulator technology, touch&go's are done in the simulator. The first takeoff and landing a pilot does with the aircraft itself is the first sector of line training.
Other people on jumpseats can be anyone. With brand new aircraft it can very well be an engineer (and they will wear pilot shirts sometimes, but different or no "stripes") because in some destinations, you don't expect to find qualified people. Some of the people you see, are probably Boeing people. It can also be someone from the authorities auditing the training, "desk-people" doing observation flights,...
