I was waiting a LX flight to FLR via ZRH last wednesday 31 of july 2013. Flight was on time at 15.00.
I saw the boarding of SN flight to Lomé and Abidjan at Terminal A/T.
At the same time...14h35 for the two flights...the SN flight to Douala and Yaoundé was parked at gate B 40. And the screen says "boarding" !
Someone knows why were not both planes, on time, parked in the same terminal ? Thx !
Pier A/T or Pier B ?

Departure flight to Douala/Yaoundé was linked with arrival flight coming from Washington.nordikcam wrote:I was waiting a LX flight to FLR via ZRH last wednesday 31 of july 2013. Flight was on time at 15.00.

When flight from Washington arrives at Concourse B at 1210LT there will be not enough time to tow the aircraft to T zone for a departure of 1435LT. Therefore departure is foreseen at concourse B.

Re: Pier A/T or Pier B ?
Indeed:
the rotation of the A330 returning from IAD flight is quite short in BRU, so to avoid losing at least half an hour on the towing procedure, it's next departure is planned from the B terminal as well.
A similar thing happens when an aircraft rotates from a non-Schengen flight to a Schengen flight and v.v.
Theoretically, the plane should change terminal between both flights too, but that obviously isn't very practical and too time consuming: in reality the flight will dock at the correct terminal upon arrival and the departing passengers (waiting in the other terminal) will simply be bussed to it for its next departure.

In normal circumstances the aircraft will be docked at the departure terminal.in reality the flight will dock at the correct terminal upon arrival and the departing passengers (waiting in the other terminal) will simply be bussed to it for its next departure.
It's lot easier to use busses for arrival and use correct terminal for departure.
