I think also that ET has probably "loose" some pax to Kigali, with the arrival of KL, TK and QR at Kigali.
However ET will serve Munich from 01 Dec 2013.

Re: BRU winter 2013-2014: latest news, routes, airlines
According to VRT, ET carried over 35,000 pax per year on their flights to BRU, so them pulling out is definitely good news for the remaining carriers serving Central and East Africa from BRU.
Re: BRU winter 2013-2014: latest news, routes, airlines
That would equal an average of about 55 pax per flight (inbound and outbound). Is this a realistic number? If so, the yields were probably low?

Is realistic if you know that the flight goes via Paris CDG.

That´s too easy most of the pax for Brussels Airlines are transit passengers I also think that ETHIOPIAN offres a lot of distinations Bru Air is not flying. For ex :I have to go to Bangui and it was very easy for us now we have to use AF again.tolipanebas wrote:According to VRT, ET carried over 35,000 pax per year on their flights to BRU, so them pulling out is definitely good news for the remaining carriers serving Central and East Africa from BRU.
It,s pity Bru Air stopped the code share, how much airlines in Bru the much passengers
and possibilities you have, look at Amsterdam.
They where not a tread for Bru Air.

I think Royal Air Maroc is the cheapest option to get there, no? Maybe not the fastest/ most convenient.
Bangui, rare destination for most of us!

Ethiopian suspended flights to Bangui, since some month. Asky serves BGF in code share with ET.
Until the arrival of ET in Star Alliance code share agreements were expanded to the Lufthansa USA Network.
Ethiopian has also code share agreements with TK and EgyptAir.
I think it was more interesting for ET.
LH-ET have various code share agreements btw Europe and Frankfurt, btw Frankfurt and Addis and also btw Addis and East Africa. Nairobi, Kigali, Dar Es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Entebbe, Zanzibar are now served by ET, two times a day in code share with LH (on time depending the day).when they saw that ET was also getting passengers from Brussels continuing through ADD to other African destinations, SN stopped the codesharing.

Brussels Airports said for the first time that they received a message from Ethiopian Airlines that they may stop flying to Brussels. Brussels Airport also claims that they are still talking to the people from Ethiopian. The scheduled 2 weekly cargo flights will not stop.

Re: BRU winter 2013-2014: latest news, routes, airlines
Why? The plane are full! Are them doing this to have expand in Africa?
Re: BRU winter 2013-2014: latest news, routes, airlines
Every airline reduces capacity in the Winter. There is not much demand for TATL fligts between November and the end of March, the Christmas holiday period (December till first week of January) excluded.crew1990 wrote:Why? The plane are full! Are them doing this to have expand in Africa?
BTW airlineroute reports that IAD will be 5 weekly from November 30th till January 11th.
Re: BRU winter 2013-2014: latest news, routes, airlines
Every airline reduces capacity in the Winter. This is right, but las winter, the flights to JFK was operated by A330-300... And in Africa there are some destination witch work better in winter time than in Summer time like Banjul for example.
Re: BRU winter 2013-2014: latest news, routes, airlines
The difference could be a load factor of 84% in W12 and 90% in W13...no ?
Re: BRU winter 2013-2014: latest news, routes, airlines
Air Transat will progressively phase out its nine A310-300s.
They will continue the leases from ILFC on three A330-200s and three A330-300s with improved terms.

Hi Flanker ! Let me state first that I don't consider you as a "foe", but it's true that I only seldom share your views, although you're not always wrong either and you are entitled to freedom of expression (only, often your posts are too long) and in any case, all members here should refrain from using derogatory or insulting language.
Rejoyce ! Croatia Airlines apparently will be flying ZAG BRU (two hours and twenty minutes) with the Q400.
Well, OU is a small airline. Probably not a trend-setter, but.... anyway I hope longer European routes will not be flown by tps.

Re: BRU winter 2013-2014: latest news, routes, airlines
As far as I know, they have been using a prop to Zagreb in the past too?
I have used them a few times and each time I ended up on one of those, but due to inconvenient plane and schedule, I try to avoid them and use LH instead. Their schedule is too much focused on linking Zagreb to Brussels in stead of the other way round, as you can have a full working day in Brussels when leaving from Zagreb, but a day trip to Zagreb from Brussels is useless. Too bad, as Croatia needs to have it from foreigners coming to them for business, so IMHO they might do better turning the schedule around and have the plane overnight here!
