Thanks RoMax.
Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
Btw, didn't the shedule change a bit? Flights depart at 16:45 instead of 17:30 which I tought they would. I checked a random date in November (winter season) and then it seems to be 17:30.
Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
The paper timetable shows departure at 17:30. With a departure at 16:45, arrival at IAD is 19:30, which means the a/c sits 3 hours in IAD, hence also my comment on the arrival time back in BRU and connections to AFI.
Anyway,
1. Your point re UA has been well taken;
2. SN seems to be changing the AFI scheduled departures times quite often.

As from today, brussels airlines links the belgian/european capital with the US capital!
Any information about the inaugural flight? Special event like for JFK last year?
Maybe some pics here?

Is that local SN staff or staff of the local handler or a combination?

To the media SN also says that their bookings are following a similar patern as their JFK launch a year ago and that they will have an average loadfactor for the first three months around 80%.

Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
Well I was on the flight in Y and I can tell you we were far from 80%. If I had to make a guesstimate I would say not even 50%, but then again I have never been good at estimating load factors.

Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
Well... thank you for the information... The inaugural BRU-JFK flight 1 year ago was indeed full...
Maybe some more information to come on the matter from airbuske & wlmfan?

Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
Well, the first flight was not full... about 90 pax onboard. But for the next days, all de IAD-BRU are full ! Like Bernard Gustin told on the medio yesterday ... average of 80% for the first 3 months. So, yeah some flights are not so full but others have a high loadfactor ...
Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
Indeed, sometimes it is strange: some flights are half empty, some are completely overbooked. I had this with LH several times: e.g. flights from Frankfurt to Abu Dhabi half empty, return flight completely full, etc. I think it is difficult to manage this since you have outbound/inbound flights anyway (you have to return / to go) ... I think this is also difficult to mange for the European flights ...
Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
The JFK had about 80-85% I believe, on its first flight. Y was not full either.brusselsairlinesfan wrote:The inaugural BRU-JFK flight 1 year ago was indeed full...
About IAD, indeed the first flight was not well filled, but some others are completely full. So in the end that can add up to a high average loadfactor.
Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
Mr Gustin was going to IAD today but ... with UNITED
Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
Yes but he is returning with SN (according to the media), but he had to change his plans as the flight he was planned to take, was full (in business class I suppose).ExSabena wrote:Mr Gustin was going to IAD today but ... with UNITED
Though ironic that he is going to IAD to 'promote' the route and he flies with United. Was business class full today?
