Saha Air (Iran) Ceased Operations

Post by KriVa »

According to some online sources, Saha Air, the last civil operator of the 707, has ceased all operations.
Is this recent news, or have I just "missed it"?

I will ask
Yes! Sure! Do go ahead! Anybody can ask!

Allow me some skepticism, though: those locals in the know (and it is not impossible you meet some), are they going to tell you? What can you offer them in return? Will you even be able to tell those in the know from the others? Whatever budget you have, how are you going to spend it?
Most of all: whatever answers you get, will they be verifyable? Are you going to report more than hearsay?

Hi,

As I can report, I can tell you he landed safe in Teheran and booked 727 Aseman flights and Iranair 747sp ..
He's now taking off to Kuala Lumpur in the 747 SP..

Oh Jan, why so serious reply,.. guess he will report that the handling offices at Teheran are empty just as with Sabena demise...

Pity, but being friend with John Travolta helps also.. still flying his private 707 in the USA..
Went to a party before his new certification as stated by the Gazet Van Antwerpen and Het Belang van Limburg of today ;)

CXB
New types flown 2024 : DO228, A338 , PC6

Well allow me some skepticism but, contrary to how some Western Politicians like to portray them, Iranians are actually remarkably Human. I can state this with confidence because I worked with a number of them a few years back.

I don't see any motive whatsoever for Iranian Civilians to fabricate details about a Civilian Airline. To the contrary I expect they will be more than willing to proudly share whatever knowledge they have on the subject.

If your attitude is right you will be warmly welcomed wherever you travel by your fellow humans and Iran is certainly no exception. Of course Iran may not have great Political leaders but they are hardly alone in that regard - choosing great leaders is not something that too many Countries excel at. The vast majority of Politicians are incompetent Megalomaniacs, it's just the degree that differs.
