There will be no strike by the ATCOs of Belgocontrol.
The "common union front" (which represents only 2 of the 3 unions) calls for a work-to-rules action by the controllers. Even if this call is answered, delays caused directly by this action will be minimal. However, larger delays might occur due to the strike actions of the french controllers.

The unions are protesting the Top-down approach by the European Union towards the Single European Sky. They conveniently forget to mention that this Top-down approach only comes AFTER the national ANSPs (with input from the unions) were given several years to come up with their own view of the SES. This bottom-up approach led to nothing. When the controllers warned the unions that this Top-down approach would be worse, they did nothing...
Therefore, next wednesday, I will do everything I can to avoid delay to flights in belgian airspace.

There is a three day strike in Europe with the greatest impact of the strike on wednesday 12 june.

The biggest support for the industrial action can be expected in France. Some airports will have a zero-rate others will run under reduced capacity due to the minimum atc staffing. Overflights through france airspace will probably receive slots due to overflight restrictions.

Until now no official information is available for EBBU. But I guess all European ACCs will only be able to estimate the impact of the industrial actions at the start of the morning shift tomorrow.

Now I am confused, the controllers are asking for actions but wont go on strike?
What is meant with work on rules?

The controllers are NOT asking for action, the unions are. Not all controllers are union members. And most controllers have not forgotten that the unions turned their back on them when they went on strike a few years ago for a valid reason. (That reason was validated by a court case that the Belgocontrol management lost)

"Work-to-rule" means no shortcuts, no level changes that are not in the FPL, ...

Well, Maybe...
But any delay she has will not be due to any action by belgian ATCOs.

Btw, BGATC, the professional organisation of belgian ATCOs does not support the actions and calls for bilateral negotiations between airlines and control organisations to arrive at a mutually beneficial agreement.

It did work out, she s at home...
Although following the liberal unions controllers performed work on rules...
The union BGATC was apparently against this as seen on the news... Aren t there issues when one is working with procedure a and the other with procedure b?
Greetings
