they make a mistake in the first 15 sec already : "c'est le plus gros avion du monde" ... not exactly ...
journalists ...
My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.

Not only journalists: see the latest ad of Lufthansa for their next A380 destination, Shanghai: "Fly to the 2nd largest city in China with the largest aircraft in the world."

No, it isn't. The Ukrainian Antonov An-225 is bigger.
But since there is only one flying around (and it's a cargo plane), it is rather unknown to the general public.

The French journalists i'm not sure about. But I don't think the guys at Lufthansa are that stupid, it's probably just a marketing trick. Not many people (or rather, not many non-aviation enthusiasts) have heard of the An-225, so it's easy to call the A380 'the biggest plane'. Sounds better than "The biggest passenger plane", or "The biggest plane in series produced", doesn't it?

Sure, but SFM still does have a point. The A380 is not the biggest plane in the world. Nitpicking, but true.

well when they are on the tarmac the A380 is the biggest standing 24m high vs 19 for the AN-225 ;)
in all other aspects going from length to payload and MTOW the AN-225 is the winner
