Stopped serving rather than banned.. If the demand is not there, why stock the bottles on the planes? I guess very few pax ask for alcohol on domestic flights, probably many more request soft drinks and water.. coffee and tea. They would not have stopped serving alcohol had the demand been there. They serve alcohol on all Int. flights.
The Nordics is also a region where abuse of alcohol is causing problems on board. Alcohol is expensive in that part of the world so once access to free or cheap booze is available, it might indeed lead to annoying situations on board.
I believe the TK decision is a wise and well considered action. Some might be annoyed with the decision, but others will have a bareable flight in return. The public interest overrules the individual need.
