New Doha airport still not open

The opening of the New Doha International Airport in Doha (Qatar) was delayed at the last minute yesterday, Qatar's local media has reported.

This is the fourth delay in opening the airport. Initally the airport was to start operations in 2010, which was put off till November 18, 2011. Then the airport was to open on December 12, 2012, which was scrapped in favor of April 1.

I was there yesterday (not specifically for the opening though). All aircraft are on a remote and all transport goes via busses. The terminal I was in looked very new though. But it was strange to see a terminal without bridges.

So not only did they miss their 12.12.2012 loudly announced opening, they also turned yesterday's "soft opening" into an April's fool

I avoided flying Qatar over the last 5 years because of old Doha airport, I will try to stick to EY for the coming months (flying to BKK later this month) but can't find a J class ticket for less than 2k euro, need to be in BRU by august 15....
