I boarded my LH flight in BIO this morning and while waiting on the gate I had a moment of this :
I saw a FR plane docked at the airbridge ! ( gate 1)
Never saw this before !
Tought FR isn't into these because of the cost and the small turnaround times ?
Any light on this,..
A vueling a320 and a AF EMB145 weren't at a gate and were bussed,..
Why not FR ?
Ryanair uses at different airport gates (Palma, Bilbao, Madrid, Barcelona sometimes,...).
For BIO turn arounds are slightly longer to allow for slow boarding.
For the majority of flights in Spain, FR uses airbridges. BIO is not an exception. In BCN, Ryanair uses airbridges for all the operations in T2 and only very seldom do they park on a remote stand! Contrary to what you may think, they actually don't like this because it is more expensive than remote stands. And about the turnarounds: almost all domestic flights in Spain have 35 minute turnaround instead of the 'normal' 25.

they also need a pushback in such cases and they prefere the cheap power-in/out stands.
pushbacks cost a lot of money btw
