Why no Emirates flight to BRU?
Hello!
I was thinking about something, maybe it has been already discussed about or maybe it's a stupid question but why isn't Emirates opening a DXB-BRU route?
They are in all the biggests airports in Europe and not in the capital of Europe? Why?
Thanks by advance

One of the reasons is that there are not many connection potentials from South Asia. And Africa is taken care by Brussels Airlines.
But they will come, sooner or later.

Re: Why no Emirates flight to BRU?
Does the presence of Etihad or Qatar Airways have an impact on their choices?
Re: Why no Emirates flight to BRU?
Etihad and Qatar probably have an influence, as well as their presence in AMS, CDG and DUS (with that, they can reach pretty much the majority of Belgium quite easilly). But with their ever growing network, I assume they'll come one day.

It sure has, but there priority for the moment are other cities with more potential, like Stockholm. Don't forget they plan to serve some cities with a second or third daily.
But if they come, my bet is daily with an A330-200.

As a matter of comparison, Emirates has opened a new route to Lyon last week, 5 times weekly, operated with an Airbus A340-500.

Re: Why no Emirates flight to BRU?
We have QR and I heard EY will go near double daily in the not too distant future.
I think the sheiks have decided that BRU is EY territory for now.
Probably EK will put up a flight one day or another, but there's no hurry.

The answer to when EK comes to BRU could be: possibly soon.travellover wrote:Thank you. Probably the question is "when ?"
Re: Why no Emirates flight to BRU?
On a side note, EY was to increase frequency to 12x weekly. Has this been confirmed?
Or have they changed their mind, and opted for a daily flight to AMS, in cooperation with KL (or AF/KL)?
Last I checked on EY's website, there are still 8 flights a week between july and october (tried some random dates). Seems to me the 12x weekly is not going to happen, at least not in 2013.
If EY would have moved to 12x weekly, that would have meant almost 3x daily flights by them and QR. Perhaps difficult for EK. But now? This would leave the door open for more QR and perhaps EK.
