Haaa Ok 2016.. anyway they have first class seat in the 346 and I think they make good money out of it.
One of them is flying to Singapore.
3 345 parked at DMK and the last one hot standby in BKK for the Thai government

You may have the answer to this one: on Bru Airport site panels,TG 934/935 seems to be code-shared with SN; however,SN flight 8601/2 is indicated to have Chennai as destination/origin! Is there a connection in BKK with a flght to Chennai? A 9W flight maybe?

The return report:
UTH-BKK performed by HS-TDG ( I couldn't see the writing , except the first 2 letters KA. I asked the FA but they had no clue that their airplane had a name. As with the other Thai airplanes, it carries mostly the name of a province and my guess that it was "Kalasin" proved to be right :
http://www.planespotters.net/Aviation_P ... ?id=245635
Wow, 19.5 years old !
At first sight , it doesn't show its age. But the seat in front of me was a bit bended.
Anyway,
quite on time at the airport. Bags go through a X-ray machine before entering the check inn area. Immediate check in. The senior desk supervisor asked me if I wouldn't mind to give one of the 3 hand hold bags for checked luggage because the airplane was full, and he expected storage problems. Despite I had already 74 kg , nobody made a remark totalling it up to 86 kg ( on 3 tickets). Great, another bag out of my hand.
Because we had plenty of time, we ate something upstairs. No more airport overview after the renovation.
It looks like a refectory. But food & drinks are very reasonable priced.
OK, off to security check and ending in a large pre boarding area.
A group of monks was allowed to seat seperately in the sofa's.
Plane departed 10 minutes late but the pilot made up 5 minutes, so no nagging about that.
Smooth ride. Again a box with a wrapped sandwich ( tuna salad this time, guess they read my remark about the curry-on-sandwich
) Bags arrived unharmed at the luggage collection and we were out of the airport < 20 minutes after arrival.
Two days later TG934 Bangkok to Brussels. To CONVAIR: I noticed the code sharing with SN ( didn't note down the nr
) but I didn't see a code share with Jet Airways. ( wih TAP, Swiss and LH and other ones yes )
Times: 20 minutes zigzagging for the check inn, 25 minutes for immigration. Fine.
At check inn: " You are allowed 90 kg in total for checked luggage Sir" ( website says 23 kg a person, so in practice it is 30 kg
) The smoothy asked ( again) if I wouldn't mind to check inn hand luggage as well, and so we could get rid off 2 extra trolleys. I love Thai, I love it. Upgrade: ( I told you guys I would ask it ) "Sorry Sir, the airplane is overbooked, especially Business Class ". As we were early I asked here in Thai if it would get unpleasant closer to departure " I think we might have some troubles if all the Business class passengers show up" and she sighted. Poor girl.
Upstairs through security ( first time I had to take of my belt and shoes
) and immigration. We had time to enjoy strolling the airport.
And now my first negative remark: Suvarnabhumi airport starts to show its age
Hold on a second, it is just 6 year open? Well, I have followed many aspects of this particular airport and it has been said many times in advance: built too cheap, too fast. The windows cannot be kept clean. Many water leakages. All kind of door and ceiling attachments bended, blocked toilets.
After a blent and too expensive snack off to C-course. Very relaxing environment. Well organised boarding with end rows first ( we
) . And yep, as the check inn girl had predicted: I could witness quite a few problems with heavy hand luggage, finding no more space in the overhead bins )
Plane was pushed back spot on ! Nice front camera, we could see all airport movements, my 9 year old was tantalised by this feature.
Soon after take off drinks arrived. The hot towel. Diner delayed with 15 minutes because of slight turbulence. Nice food ( masaman chicken or fried fish - tasted both and it was fine )
As it was a night flight most passengers went to sleep. I watched a movie but was soon in Dreamworld.
I woke up 4 hours before landing, somewhere around the Black Sea. Hm, my IFE didn't seem to work properly anymore. No big fuzz, wanted to sleep further. Toilets were kept clean throughout the flight. Drinks offered silently.
Seating: this time there was a IFE box in the seat in front of me but because it was placed in the middle, I could nicely move my feet. So no problem. The seat itself offered enough seat pitch and space.
1.5 hours before landing breakfast was served. This time no light show and early bird music.
Choice: Or an omelette, or a quiche. Both tasted OK. Hot breads/croissants were distributed, tea and coffee plentyful. All girls received a orchid corsage. Soon after followed a 5 minute instruction movie about BRU airport. Good for the connecting passengers.
Landing: 10 minutes before landing, the front camera went on again and we had a splendid view on the Belgian landscape under us.
The landing itself was so smoothly that the passengers applauded. Hey guys, this is no charter flight !
Deboarding went swift and luggage arrived quickly on the belt. ( immigration was < 5 minutes)
At customs, I saw 4 groups of officers and passed them by , just thinking what I would say if they discovered all the illegal foodstuff.
Time between landing and loading luggage in the car ( express parking ) was < 30 minutes. Who complains about Brussels?
OK dear members, to conclude:
679 € BRU-BKk + 8 € for connection to UTH is the best option. The product of Thai is spotless, precise, professional. Don't let yourself be caught for 50 € less by some Middle Eastern carrier. Even with the very low prices of Egypt Air, the total cost is lower if you have a Thai domestic flight.
Let us hope that Thai can keep it up .
I rest my case.

Re: Thai to serve BRU as from Nov 2011 !
Thanks for this report. I'm still happy with QR to be honest and with EK ex AMS you'll get the whole trip on the A380 now... Nevertheless, I should try TG on one of my next trips ... Any estimation of the loadfactors on BRU-BKK and BKK-BRU (besides the 120% LF in business on your way back to BRU , that is
) ?
Re: Thai to serve BRU as from Nov 2011 !
Thanks for the report regi. Nice to read how TG is performing 7 months after my flights with them!
Re: Thai to serve BRU as from Nov 2011 !
All my 4 flights were full. But in Thailand I heard several remarks of TG passengers who were on half empty planes from BRU.capetown wrote:Any estimation of the loadfactors on BRU-BKK and BKK-BRU (besides the 120% LF in business on your way back to BRU , that is) ?
I guess it depends on the period.
Re: Thai to serve BRU as from Nov 2011 !
Could be ... I've flown BRU-BKK-BRU 4 times since January (QR). Generally, the BRU-DOH and DOH-BRU would seem to have a LF of approx. 80 - 85% (my rough guess). When I returned on July 9th, the DOH-BRU leg had a LF of approx. 25% in business but economy class was full. The same applied to the BRU-DOH flight of June 27th. So european summer does seem to give a boost to LF's

32 inch... that's 2 inch less then on the current plane, what a pitty!thalenoi wrote: - Economy Class is configured with 306 comfortable seats that have 32 inch pitch and an 18 inch seat width. I spotted that immediately as well, let's hope that they don't add a 10th seat abreast as well...ThierryD wrote:32 inch... that's 2 inch less then on the current plane, what a pitty!thalenoi wrote: - Economy Class is configured with 306 comfortable seats that have 32 inch pitch and an 18 inch seat width. Re: Thai to serve BRU as from Nov 2011 !
So, maybe a chance to sit in a brand new aircraft when I'm leaving in October, nice.Bangkok-Brussels route when the second aircraft arrives.
Re: Thai to serve BRU as from Nov 2011 !
I got this in a mail:
As from 30 October 2012, THAI will introduce a change of aircraft on Brussels Bangkok v.v route & fly with Boeing 777-300ER.
Our B777-300ER aircraft will offer 3 classes of service with First class, Royal Silk Class & Economy class seats on board.
My son is flying Thai BRU-BKK in november, I checked with expertflyer.com and indeed they show 3 classes of service. Now The two new Thai Airways B777/300ER delivered aug and oct are two class configs, thus it seems these B777/300ER they will be using on BKK-BRU route as of 30 oct to replace the B777/200 will be the leased ones from Jet Airways???
Can someone confirm?

Re: Thai to serve BRU as from Nov 2011 !
I got the same mail as well.
Seating: 32" in economy, but still confortable. It are the same airplanes used from CDG to BKK.
And no compromises on all the extra goodies what concerns IFE, food, luggage, cheap additional domestic flights, ...
Interested travellers: message is: look out for promotions. In that case you could have a total package which is cheaper than even the cheapiest ticket with Etihad . The early winter promotion runs untill 30th September for flights untill 24rd June 2013.

It's also in the "BRU Winter 2012/13 latest news": for the moment Jet Airways leased 77W (with Suites in F/CL) is planned to operate the route, indeed.thalenoi wrote:Can someone confirm?

If business class is called "Royal Silk Class", what other superlative will they find for their First class?thalenoi wrote:Our B777-300ER aircraft will offer 3 classes of service with First class, Royal Silk Class & Economy class seats on board.

Anyone knows how it works with the AMEX-Thai, is it linked to a bank account in Europe or is it linked to a Thai bank account?
Is it interresting?
