When the wind components exceed the indicated values, a runway more into wind will be assigned.
However, RWY 07L/R will not be used for landing, except when no other suitable runway is available.
In headwind configurations, the crosswind component is not a limiting factor when take-off is conducted

Today 31st August, around 08:30, quite abrupt change from 25L arrivals to 02? Strange changes in the routings visible on flightradar24, including some excursions over Brussels city - but at FL070 or so.

For those having Facebook - here's a link to a 37sec movie posted on Bru Airport's facebook page this morning - while pax are boarding an Onur Air flight, lots of traffic taxiing to take of from 02 ...nice !

Tht's normal procedure for arrivals RWY02. Traffic coming from the east will fly to BUB, descending to FL70 and then over the city for left hand circuit. We had to use RWY02 because all RWYs were outside of the limits (crosswind up to 20kts) and then we have to choose whichever RWY is closest to the limits.jan_olieslagers wrote:Today 31st August, around 08:30, quite abrupt change from 25L arrivals to 02? first time ever ATIS is announcing landings on 07L (which is actual, I see the planes from my window), take offs on 25 R !!! that's crazy, right?

Nothing dangerous about it with proper sequencing. However, if they are actually running that config, for whatever reason, capacity will be dramatically reduced.
