At under 20kts from only 50 degrees offset in relation to the runway axis, there really is no reason not to go for the more common configuration of rwy02 with an ILS over a visual line up on the RWY07L really, as that would cut capacity of the airport drastically.
Planes can take a lot more crosswind than what you call strong winds already, you know?
Or how do you think they deal with it at places like LHR or CDG, which have only 2 reciprocal landing directions?
Wind limitations of up to 30 kts FULL cross ( on dry runways) are achievable if needed...
I know this, I was talking by experience. There are precise rules at EBBR, although they changed a lot recently, I didn't hear they changed in the last months.
Last year, everytime winds were 070 to 090 as from 12 or 13 knots, they were using 07L for landings and not 02.
I can assure you.
Even one day, I wrote a post in this thread cos it was 070 8knots and they were using 07R (for a short time)...
I'm just puzzled in general cos there are precise standards at this airport which seem not to be applied the same way at all times...
I know that someone in here can explain why.
